Responding to a Saturday report that suggested the Suns are interested in using Deandre Ayton as a trade chip to acquire Tobias Harris from the Sixers, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 calls the rumor “just total BS,” tweeting that Phoenix has “no interest” in such a deal.
Gambadoro, who reported earlier in the week that Ayton appears unlikely to be traded, reiterated that point in his tweet on Sunday. While that doesn’t mean that the former No. 1 overall pick is a lock to begin next season in Phoenix, Gambadoro is pretty plugged in on Suns issues, so it sounds – for now at least – like Ayton is a good bet to stay put.
Here’s more from around the Pacific:
- The Suns didn’t have a first-round pick on Thursday night, but they were able to add a young player using a second-rounder, the last one they’ll own until 2031. Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com takes a look at what the team should expect from No. 52 pick Toumani Camara.
- The Lakers‘ No. 17 pick was mentioned in a series of trade rumors leading up to the draft, but the team hung onto it and nabbed Jalen Hood-Schifino, whom Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka referred to as a “lottery-level talent,” adding he “fits well with the young core that we’re building here.” As Jovan Buha of The Athletic writes, by drafting Hood-Schifino – and Maxwell Lewis at No. 40 – rather than trading for a veteran, the team was prioritizing its future over its present, at least on draft night.
- Although the Warriors‘ leaders can’t formally address the Chris Paul acquisition until it becomes official, head coach Steve Kerr told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic that the team “sensed we needed a shift” entering the offseason. “Didn’t mean we needed an overhaul, but we needed a shift of some sort. I think everybody in the organization sensed that,” Kerr explained. “And it feels like we’ve made a pretty significant shift without giving up our identity and our sense of who we are as a team. I think, all in all, it’s a very positive shift.”

Well I definitely called this one which you can find my comment on this article:

Heard it here first!!!
Twin towers in Philly gonna put them #2 behind Miami in the East
Lol no one cares. Suns already said they’re not trading him.
No they didn’t, Gambardo just said that.
Yeah he heard you …….
John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 calls the rumor “just total BS,” tweeting that Phoenix has “no interest” in such a deal.
Kyrie says the Earth is flat too ……
So do 4 billion people in the world…
What so special about Irvings’ opinion?
Isn’t the flat earth media narrative over a decade old?
I don’t see the relevance, you must comment to pump your ego or something
i am pretty certain that 4 B people do not believe the earth is flat. In fact, I would guess the number of people who believe that to be less than 4 million…
Gambardo also said the Suns werent going to get KD. That dude is a NY fan trying to talk about Phoenix sports. No one takes that dude serious.
They are playing basketball, which apparently you know little about. In no multiverse would Philly play Embiid and Ayton together. Also, in no universe would Philly acquire a guy making $33 M a year to play him spot minutes off the bench. This trade is BS, and quite stupid.
Somehow LeBron will weasel his way to the Warriors next year.
Doubt it.
Never say never
GSW are the only team with a clear path to acquiring Bron and Bronny while remaining a contender. Might as well be a done deal.
^ You know who said it here first
Kerr obviously being fed up not only with Poole but with having had so many young players on the roster with expectation to win the title. It was ludicrous how Warriors got rid of all the veteran role players including GP2 2 yrs ago after winning the title. But now they are throwing away all their assets – Wiseman, Poole, Baldwin, Rollins, and counting while the core players are aging. Warriors had so much good fortune last 10 yrs, but now if they make a wrong move, they will be another lottery team. :(
No team with Steph Curry playing 60+ games will ever be a lottery team, delusional take.
The problem was Kerr wanted teams to go one way and Meyers vision was the opposite. Glad to see the GM and Kerr on the same page by taking older players that con contribute now. I have a feeling Meyers would have taken Whitmore with the 19th pick instead of a player the 2 draft picks that can jump right in.
Warriors will have to be very lucky to make the 10 next season…
4 injury prone guys at the top of the salary sheet and very little depth behind them…
Schifino was a solid pick. I just don’t think he helps next yr. Lakers are all about next yr. They have to do something…..
doesn’t matter really !!!! the window is closed. Only Kyrie can change their outlook. And that’s the baller Kyrie ……
If Draymond gets 3 years $60mm, Nobody will take him
He is not tradable
Warriors are in deep trouble
This was an excellent pick. Lottery level talent? Not so sure about that, but he could be the best all around player taken at that stage of the draft. Great combination of size (length and strength), physicality and basetball IQ, and he has pretty good skills across the board. But he’s not a great athlete, or a great shooter. So, maybe a lower ceiling that the typical lottery pick. If he can defend decently, I see him playing.
The guy has a lot of talent but is inconsistent and needs to control the ball better. Most likely playing in G league early in the season to learn about playing at a higher level. Will the Lakers take time and wait for him to become a NBA player is the question.
Sure the Lakers should run it back with the same team. Lock in a playoff spot early. Improve chemistry playing together.
Get some rest before the Playoffs begin, unlike this year when they played 20 something games with playoff intensity just to get in the Play In.
Sounds like a good plan, plus they can wait and see what to do on the Trade Deadline.
The question is: are they willing to pay the taxes to retain Bamba and Beasley? Will Dennis accept another below market contract?
Claxton and Joe Harris for Deandre Ayton and 2 future first round picks (if possible for them to be like 2032 and 2034, unsure about the rules). Gives Phoenix another spot up shooter and Claxton is tougher than Ayton on the defensive end
pass
Why the heck would Philly trade for a guy making $33+M only to play him off the bench behind Embiid. They cannot play together. This is just one big stupid idea pushed by someone who doesn’t understand basketball.
