The Warriors have agreed to reacquire the No. 52 pick from the Trail Blazers in exchange for cash considerations, per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports and Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report (Twitter links).
The Warriors used the pick to select center Quinten Post out of Boston College.
As Highkin notes, Portland shipped out its No. 34 selection the Knicks for three future second-rounders, received cash from the Thunder to move down from No. 40 to 52, and have now moved off the No. 52 pick as well.
After starting the draft Wednesday with four draft selections, a rebuilding Portland club finishes with just one pick, No. 7, which it used on center Donovan Clingan. The Trail Blazers have $46.4MM in salaries committed to veteran centers Deandre Ayton and Robert Williams III.
Sending out cash to obtain the No. 52 selection will hard-cap Golden State at the NBA’s second apron for the 2024/25 season. The No. 52 pick was dealt by the Warriors to the Thunder in a trade for Lindy Waters earlier today, was sent from Oklahoma City to Portland, and has now has landed back in Golden State.

How is a 24 year old, 4-year college guy a “project”? Projects are usually teenagers or guys who can barely play. This guy started for Boston College last year, that’s never a “project”. Agree to disagree there.
Davey just because he’s excelled in the college game doesn’t mean he’s not a project for the NBA game. Please understand this, he’s coming from college, which is a lot different from the NBA.
There’s different strategies and he has to physically get stronger and work on quickness and or anticipation, 3pt shooting, etc.
The guy could be 30 but in coming to the NBA he would be a project. Maybe not physically but in learning how to play the NBA game. It takes time.
James Wiseman was a project. This guy is almost as old as Looney!
I’ve never seen anyone avg 31.9 MPG for BC as a senior get called a “project” before. That’s crazy to me. Never seen it once before this site. Mind=blown. Maybe if he averaged 10.5 MPG or something, but a legit starter? No, thats a NBA-ready guy

What does minutes played have to do with the subject at hand? Lots of guys get minutes in college. Find a different stat maybe?
Post’s stats are impressive for any player let alone a 7ft 1in player. 43% 0n 3’s? And about 3.5 attempts/game. It’s not a few Bol attempts we’re talking about. It’s 116 for the season. And his other numbers are eye opening. Project? probably yes BUT let’s not forget TJD easy successful transition to the NBA. 4 or 5 years of college might make for a TJD type of transition. It looks like he could at least defend at the hoop.

NBA is a much faster game than college. He doesn’t have speed so he must improve his foot speed to be able to play in the NBA. Just because you are 7 feet doesn’t mean you are a good player.
The comp I heard for Post was Mike Muscala. That is not something to get excited about.
You are right Davey J. He is the 1st 7 footer the Warriors have drafted since they came west…As if a couple of inches really matter.
Les Jepson? I remember they drafted him in the Tyrone Hill draft. 1990 or so?
The Warriors drafted both Robert Parish and Joe Barry Carroll.
