D-League Moves: C’s, Thunder, Pacers, Spurs

We'll follow Friday's D-League assignments and recalls below:

Kris Joseph has been assigned to the D-League by the Celtics, the club announced in a press release. Joseph has averaged 19.5 PPG in eight games for the Maine Red Claws this season.
After being recalled on Monday from the Tulsa 66ers, Perry Jones III, Jeremy Lamb, and Daniel Orton are all headed back to the D-League, the Thunder announced today in a press release.
Orlando Johnson has been recalled from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers announced in a team release. Johnson scored 25 points last night to help lead the Mad Ants to a 102-86 victory over the Santa Cruz Warriors.
The Spurs have assigned Nando De Colo to the D-League for the second time this season, the team announced in a press release. He'll rejoin the Austin Toros.

D-League Moves: Thursday

The Pacers have re-assigned Orlando Johnson to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, according to Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star (via Twitter). Johnson had a brief stint in the D-League last month before he was recalled to Indiana on November 26th.
The Warriors have re-assigned Kent Bazemore and Jeremy Tyler to the D-League just three days after recalling them, the team announced today in a press release. Both players appeared briefly in Golden State's game last night against the Jazz.
Quincy Miller is heading back to the Iowa Energy for his second D-League stint of the season, the Nuggets announced today in a press release. Miller, who was originally assigned to the D-League on November 13th, has been back with the Nuggets since December 2nd. He's only appeared briefly in three games with Denver, however.
Three Thunder players are becoming increasingly familiar with the route between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Perry Jones III, DeAndre Liggins, and Daniel Orton have been re-assigned to the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder's D-League affiliate, the team announced today in a press release. It's the fourth D-League assignment of the season for Orton, and the third for both Jones and Liggins. Starting this season, there are no restrictions on the number of times that NBA teams are allowed to assign players to the D-League, so the Thunder have been taking full advantage of the geographical proximity of their Tulsa affiliate.

D-League Moves: Selby, Wroten, Plumlee, Joseph

The Grizzlies have assigned Josh Selby to the Reno Big Horns and recalled Tony Wroten from the team, Memphis announced in a press release. Selby has seen only 15 minutes of action in five games with the Grizzlies, while Wroten, a rookie, has logged even more scant playing time — eight total minutes in three games.
Miles Plumlee is back in the NBA after the Pacers recalled him from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the team announced via Twitter. The 6'10" Plumlee, the 26th pick in the draft this year, has appeared in just four games for a total of 16 minutes, and has been passed over in the team's big man mix in favor of Jeff Pendergraph, among others.
The Spurs have assigned Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros for the third time this season, the team announced. Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News noted via Twitter a few minutes prior to the announcement that the team planned to send the second-year guard down so he can get some playing time. He's logged 65 total minutes over nine games for the Thunder this season, averaging 2.1 points and 1.4 assists per game.
The Thunder have brought back Jeremy Lamb and Daniel Orton from their D-League assignments, the team announced via Twitter (hat tip to John Rohde of The Oklahoman). They were sent down on Friday, and both appeared in back-to-back games for the Tulsa 66ers this weekend. Lamb notched 24 and 26 points, respectively, in the two outings while Orton averaged 12.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the pair of D-League contests. Oklahoma City has made liberal use of relaxed D-League assignment rules this season, as this represents the third time both Lamb and Orton have been sent down and recalled this year.

D-League Moves: Thunder, Rockets, Trail Blazers

Here are Friday's D-League assignments and recalls:

The Thunder have assigned Jeremy Lamb and Daniel Orton to their D-League affiliate, the team announced today in a press release. Oklahoma City has been making frequent use of the Tulsa 66ers this year in order to get its young players some minutes. It's the third assignment for Lamb and Orton.
The Rockets are sending Donatas Motiejunas and Terrence Jones back to their D-League affiliate, tweets Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston. It's the second time each player has been sent to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this season.
Victor Claver and Joel Freeland have been assigned to the Idaho Stampede, the Trail Blazers announced today (Twitter link). Claver was sent down to the D-League for two games earlier this month, while Freeland has yet to join the Stampede this season.

D-League Moves: Lamb, Orton, Melo

Jeremy Lamb and Daniel Orton have been recalled from the D-League by the Thunder, tweets Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman. The duo have been up and down between the Thunder and the Tulsa 66ers so far this season, having just been assigned to the 66ers on Saturday.
The Celtics have recalled Fab Melo from the Maine Red Claws, the team announced today in a press release. Melo had been assigned to Boston's D-League affiliate back on November 14th. Although the C's have assigned and recalled Kris Joseph to the Red Claws multiple times already, this is Melo's first recall of the season. For Maine, he averaged 6.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 2.2 BPG in five contests.

D-League Moves: Jackson, Joseph, Lamb, Orton

We're keeping track of all of the D-League assignments and recalls of 2012/13 right here, and we'll round up today's moves in this post, with the latest on top.

The Thunder have assigned Reggie Jackson to the Tulsa 66ers, according to Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman (Twitter link). The second-year point guard has seen only 56 minutes of action across 10 games for Oklahoma City this year after losing to Eric Maynor in the battle to become the team's primary backup point guard. Jackson is the fifth player the Thunder has sent to the D-League at different points this season, and he'll join Jeremy Lamb and Daniel Orton, who were demoted earlier today.
The Celtics announced forward Kris Joseph has been assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the D-League for a third time this season. The 6'7" Joseph has averaged 21.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 39.0 minutes over three contests for the Red Claws this season. He's also hit the floor for three times with the big club in Boston, but has totaled only nine NBA minutes.
The Thunder announced that they have sent guard Jeremy Lamb and center Daniel Orton back to the Tulsa 66ers of the D-League. Both players were recalled just yesterday along with Perry Jones III. Lamb and Orton are presently the only Thunder players on the 66ers' roster with Jones remaining in Oklahoma City and DeAndre Liggins having been recalled last week.

The Thunder have recalled Jeremy Lamb, Perry Jones III, and Daniel Orton from the Tulsa 66ers, the team announced today (Twitter link via Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports). Having recalled DeAndre Liggins from the D-League last week, the Thunder now don't have any players still on the 66ers' roster, though I'd imagine that won't last too long.
The Trail Blazers have assigned Will Barton and Victor Claver to the Idaho Stampede, the team announced today (link via Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com). Of the two rookies, Barton has earned more playing time, averaging 8.8 MPG in 16 contests, while Claver has seen limited minutes in just five games. Both players will be with the Stampede for two games before rejoining Portland, according to GM Neil Olshey (Twitter link via Jason Quick of the Oregonian).
The Cavaliers have assigned Jon Leuer to their D-League affiliate, the team announced today in a press release. Leuer will join the Canton Charge and be available for the club's game tomorrow. After being claimed off waivers by Cleveland in the offseason, Leuer has appeared in five games for the Cavs, averaging 3.2 PPG and 2.0 RPG in 14.4 minutes per contest. The 23-year-old will be the only member of the Cavs playing in the D-League for now, since the team recalled Kevin Jones earlier this week.

Thunder Assign Orton, Liggins To D-League

The Thunder have assigned a pair of players to their D-League affiliate, the team announced today in a press release. With the D-League regular season about to get underway, Daniel Orton and DeAndre Liggins will join the Tulsa 66ers.

Orton and Liggins both spent the 2011/12 season with the Magic. Orton, a first-round pick in 2010, didn't have his third-year option exercised by Orlando, while Liggins was an unrestricted free agent after his rookie season.

Oklahoma City added both players to its training camp roster, retaining Liggins for the regular season, but waiving Orton. Orton was re-signed by the team when a pair of roster spots opened up following the James Harden trade. So far this season, Liggins has seen limited minutes in four games, with Orton appearing in just one.

Thunder Re-Sign Daniel Orton

6:41pm: The team officially announced the move in a press release.

10:27am: The Thunder have re-signed Orton to the NBA roster after he joined the D-League's Tulsa 66ers, according to the Oklahoman.

9:15am: Having waived him just a few days ago, the Thunder are expected to bring back Daniel Orton, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein (Twitter link). Oklahoma City released Orton, along with Andy Rautins and Hollis Thompson, prior to sending four players to Houston in exchange for Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, which opened up a pair of roster spots.

When Orton was released by the Thunder on Saturday, Royce Young of DailyThunder.com wrote that the team was expected to retain the rights to the Oklahoma City native for its D-League affiliate. Assuming Orton officially re-signs with the Thunder, the club could still send him to the Tulsa 66ers, where he'd receive more playing time and a chance to develop.

If and when Orton's deal becomes finalized, Oklahoma City will have one open roster spot left, with 14 players under contract. Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman (Twitter link) doesn't expect the Thunder to fill that spot, given the flexibility it adds, not to mention how close to the tax threshold the team is.

Thunder Waive Rautins, Orton, Thompson

The Thunder have let go of Andy Rautins, Daniel Orton and Hollis Thompson, reports Royce Young of DailyThunder.com. All were on partially guaranteed deals — Orton for $100K, Thompson for $75K, and Rautins for $25K. That means DeAndre Liggins, whose deal is also partially guaranteed for $25K, appears to have won the competition for the team's final regular season roster spot.

Young writes that the Thunder are expected to retain the rights to Rautins, Orton and Thompson for their D-League affiliate, the Tulsa 66ers, as long as they clear waivers. The Thunder signed the 6'8" Thompson, who went undrafted out of Georgetown in June, on the first day free agents could officially sign with teams this summer. Orton, a 6'10" native of Oklahoma City, was the 29th pick in the 2010 draft by the Magic, who didn't pick up his third-year option, allowing him to sign with his hometown team in August. The Thunder picked up Rautins and Liggins, both guards, on the same day in September. Both were former second-round picks with brief NBA action.

The Thunder now have 15 players on their roster, though they could decide to let Liggins go at any time before January 10th without having to pay more than his $25K partial guarantee.
