NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 12/18/16

Here are the D-League assignments and recalls for Sunday:

  • The Spurs assigned guard Bryn Forbes to the Austin Spurs, the team announced on its website. Forbes scored 23 points against the Westchester Knicks on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Thunder recalled forward Josh Huestis from the Oklahoma City Blue, the team announced in a press release. In nine games with the Blue this season, Huestis is averaging 12.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 2.11 blocks in 31.7 minutes. Huestis has appeared in five games with the Thunder, averaging 2.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.0 minutes.

NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 12/4/16

Here are Sunday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA:

  • The Thunder have assigned forward Josh Huestis to Oklahoma City Blue, according to a press release from the team. Huestis has appeared in four games with the Blue, averaging 9.3 points and 6.5 rebounds.
  • The Spurs have recalled forward Davis Bertans from their Austin affiliate, the team announced on its website. Bertans has played two games in the D-League and 16 in San Antonio, where he is averaging 3.8 points and 1.2 rebounds per night.
  • The Knicks have recalled power forward Maurice Ndour from their Westchester affiliate, tweets ESPN’s Ian Begley. Ndour had 12 points, six rebounds and four blocks for the D-League team Saturday night.

Here are Saturday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA:
  • The Knicks assigned forward Maurice Ndour to the Westchester Knicks and he will play against the Erie Bay Hawks tonight, the team’s PR staff tweets. The power forward has appeared in 10 NBA games this season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.1 minutes.
  • The Celtics assigned forward Jordan Mickey to their D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, the team tweets. The second-year power forward has appeared in eight games with Boston this season, averaging 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.3 minutes.
  • The Thunder recalled forward Josh Huestis from the Oklahoma City Blue, the team announced in a press release. In four games with the Blue this season, Huestis is averaging 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.00 blocks in 31.8 minutes. He has yet to make his season debut with the Thunder.
  • The Spurs assigned Davis Bertans and Dejounte Murray to their D-League affiliate, the Austin Spurs, according to the team’s website. Both players are available tonight for Austin’s game against the Salt Lake City Stars.

NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 11/29/16

Here are Tuesday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA:

10:35pm:

  • The Spurs have recalled Bryn Forbes, Nicolas Laprovittola and Dejounte Murray from their Austin affiliate, the team announced on its website.
  • The Nets have recalled forwards Anthony Bennett and Chris McCullough from their Long Island affiliate, the team announced in a press release. Both started Long Island’s game today and were available for Brooklyn’s game with the Clippers.
  • The Raptors have quickly recalled Caboclo and VanVleet, whose assignments to the D-League were noted below (Twitter link).

2:07pm:

  • After getting a rare shot at playing time for the Raptors on Monday night in the team’s blowout of the 76ers, Bruno Caboclo and Fred VanVleet have been re-assigned to Raptors 905, according to Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic. As Murphy writes, the schedules for Toronto’s NBA and D-League teams overlap neatly this week, so Caboclo and VanVleet could be up and down a couple more times.
  • Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, who received some playing time on the other side of that blowout in Toronto on Monday, has been assigned to the Delaware 87ers in advance of the team’s Tuesday night contest, according to a press release issued by the Sixers. The 2016 first-rounder has appeared in 11 games for Philadelphia so far, and one for Delaware.
  • Former first-round pick Josh Huestis has been re-assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder announced today in a press release. Huestis has appeared in a pair of games for the D-League squad so far, averaging a modest 9.0 PPG and 6.5 RPG.

NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 11/16/16

Here are Wednesday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA:

  • The Sixers have recalled Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Jerryd Bayless from the Delaware 87ers, tweets Derek Bodner of PhillyMag. Luwawu-Cabarrot, a first-round pick, was sent down Tuesday, and Bayless was assigned Monday as part of an “ongoing rehabilitation program” as he recovers from a left wrist injury.
  • The Wizards will be sending rookie guard Danuel House to the 87ers, according to J. Michael of CSNMidAtlantic. Washington doesn’t have a direct affiliate in the D-League.
  • The Thunder have recalled rookie power forward Josh Huestis from the Oklahoma City Blue, tweets Fred Katz of The Norman Transcript. Huestis has appeared in five games with the Thunder.
  • The Celtics have announced that they’re bringing back point guard Demetrius Jackson from the Maine Red Claws (Twitter link). Jackson played three games with Maine, averaging 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.3 steals.
  • The Lakers have assigned rookie center Ivica Zubac to the L.A. D-Fenders, the D-League team announced (Twitter link). He is expected to play Thursday night.

Here are Tuesday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA:

  • One of the Sixers‘ two first-round picks this year – Ben Simmons – has yet to make his debut with the team due to a foot injury, and now Philadelphia’s other first-rounder is headed to the D-League. The 76ers announced today in a press release that they’ve assigned rookie Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to the Delaware 87ers.
  • The Spurs assigned Dejounte Murray to the D-League today, just in time for the rookie guard to play in the Austin Spurs’ Tuesday afternoon victory over the Reno Bighorns. Murray flirted with a triple-double in the win, posting 14 points, 10 rebounds, and a team-high seven assists. He was recalled by San Antonio after the game.
  • Former first-round pick Josh Huestis was assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue again today by the Thunder, the team announced in a press release. Huestis is expected to suit up for OKC’s D-League squad tonight against the Salt Lake City Stars.
  • The Knicks have assigned rookie big man Marshall Plumlee to their D-League affiliate in Westchester, and he’s expected to play for the team on Wednesday night against Greensboro (Twitter link).

  • The Thunder recalled forward Josh Huestis from the Oklahoma City Blue, they announced via press release. Huestis played 31 minutes in the Blue’s opener on Friday night, notching eight points, 10 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes against the Maine Red Claws.
  • The Mavericks assigned rookie center A.J. Hammons to the Texas Legends, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com tweets. The 7-footer has seen spot duty in three games with Dallas. The second-round pick will be available for the Legends’ season opener Saturday night against the Red Claws.

NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 11/11/16

Here are Friday’s D-League assignments and recalls from around the NBA, as the D-League enters the opening weekend of its regular season:

  • The Kings have assigned their three 2016 first-round picks to the D-League, announcing today in a press release that center Georgios Papagiannis, forward Skal Labissiere, and guard Malachi Richardson were all sent to the Reno Bighorns. The trio has combined to play just 29 total minutes for Sacramento so far, so it makes sense that the club would send them to Reno, where they should have a chance to log plenty of game action.
  • The Thunder have assigned former first-rounder Josh Huestis to the Oklahoma City Blue, the club confirmed today in a press release. Huestis is expected to suit up for OKC’s D-League squad for its season opener Friday night against the Maine Red Claws.

NBA D-League Assignments/Recalls: 11/8/16

Here are Tuesday’s D-League assignments and recalls:

10:35pm:

  • The Knicks have assigned Ron Baker and Marshall Plumlee to their D League affiliate in Westchester, Ian Begley of ESPN.com tweets. The duo are expected to participate in the team’s scrimmage against the Nets’ affiliate on Wednesday, Begley adds.
  • The Thunder have recalled Huestis from their D-League affiliate, the team announced via press release.

2:51pm:

  • The newest member of the Bulls, R.J. Hunter, has been assigned to the team’s D-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, according to a press release. Hunter signed with Chicago during the first week of the regular season after being cut by Boston, but has yet to appear in a game for the Bulls.
  • For the second time in two days, the Nets assigned Chris McCullough to the Long Island Nets to practice with the D-League squad, then recalled him later in the day, the club announced in a pair of press releases. McCullough is expected to be active for Brooklyn’s game tonight against the Timberwolves.
  • Josh Huestis, who recently changed agents, was assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue today by the Thunder to participate in the D-League team’s practice. The Thunder issued a press release confirming the move.

Chris Bosh, Josh Huestis Hire New Agents

Heat big man Chris Bosh and Thunder forward Josh Huestis each have new representation, according to various reports. Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal reports (via Twitter) that Bosh has signed with Rob Pelinka of Landmark Sports Agency, while Tony Jones of The Salt Lake Tribune tweets that Huestis has hired Andy Miller of ASM Sports.

Bosh, who was previously represented by CAA Sports, parted ways with his previous agent earlier this year. The change for Bosh came around the same time that he and the Heat were at odds over his situation in Miami, with the veteran power forward still eager to continue his playing career while the team ruled him out due to blood-clotting concerns that arose during his preseason physical.

Bosh and the Heat reportedly haven’t had much – if any – contact over the last few months, so Pelinka will be tasked with handling that situation as it develops. The Heat are widely expected to waive Bosh later in the 2016/17 league year, assuming the team can get cap relief from the move.

As for Huestis, he was previously represented by Toby Bailey and Mitchell Butler, who played a part in the decision to have their client play a year in the D-League after he was selected in the first round of the 2014 draft by the Thunder. While that was an unprecedented move, there’s no indication that it’s the reason for Huestis’ change in representation.

The Thunder recently exercised their third-year option on Huestis for the 2017/18 season, so he has a guaranteed salary for the next two seasons, and remains under contract for one more team option in 2018/19. If that option is exercised, he’ll be eligible for restricted free agency in 2019.
