Raptors Re-Sign Ben Uzoh, Alan Anderson

The Raptors have officially re-signed Ben Uzoh and Alan Anderson, according to a team press release. Both players saw their second 10-day contracts expire today, so their new deals will keep them with the team for the remainder of the season.

With a number of Raptors regulars missing time with injuries, both Uzoh and Anderson have entered the starting lineup, with Anderson starting the seven games and Uzoh starting the last two. Overall, Anderson, who I named one of the best 10-day signings of 2012, is averaging 8.4 points and 1.4 threes in 22.4 minutes per game. Uzoh has averages of 4.1 PPG, 2.8 APG, and 2.6 RPG in 11 contests with Toronto.

As our 10-day contract tracker shows, Justin Dentmon also had his deal with Toronto expire today, but the team chose not to bring him back. The series of moves leaves the Raptors with 14 players on their roster.

Dallas radio hosts Barry Horn and Kevin Sherrington weighed in on a couple of Mavericks issues. Horn believes the Mavs are a better team without Lamar Odom, who was shut down earlier this week.
Sherrington speculates that the Mavs are still interested in acquiring Dwight Howard, especially if they can't sign Deron Williams this summer.
Michael Beasley told Ray Richardson of the Pioneer Press that he wants to stay with the Timberwolves going forward. Beasley is set to become a restricted free agent this summer.
Michael Hunt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says the Bucks lack a clear direction for the future and will not contend with their current roster. Hunt believes the first step will be re-signing Ersan Ilyasova this summer.

Raptors Sign Justin Dentmon

9:57am: The team has confirmed, via press release, that it's a 10-day contract.

9:37am: Scott Schroeder of Ridiculous Upside tweets that the team has finalized the signing. No word yet on whether the deal is for 10 days or the rest of the season.

WEDNESDAY, 11:04am: The Raptors are hoping to sign Justin Dentmon by week's end, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com (via Twitter). Scott Schroeder of Ridiculous Upside reports that the Raptors previously tried to call up Dentmon, but the University of Washington alum had already agreed to a 10-day deal with the Spurs (Twitter link).

As our 10-day tracker shows, Dentmon signed with the Spurs on March 24th, though the team terminated his contract early, according to RealGM's transactions log. Either way, Dentmon's 10-day deal would have expired by now, and it doesn't appear San Antonio is interested in bringing him back. The 26-year-old, who appeared in two games for the Spurs, has since rejoined the D-League's Austin Toros.

The Raptors currently have two guards on 10-day contracts, but both Alan Anderson's and Ben Uzoh's deal are set to expire this week, so perhaps Toronto will sign Dentmon to replace one of the two.

Spurs Sign Justin Dentmon To Ten-Day Contract

The Spurs have announced that they signed guard Justin Dentmon from the D-League's Austin Toros to a 10-day contract. To make room for Dentmon, the Spurs released Eric Dawson two days before his ten-day deal was set to expire, tweets Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

Dentmon, 26, averaged 22.9 PPG and 5.3 RPG for the Toros while shooting 42% from long range. Dentmon should give the Spurs some depth in the backcourt as they wait for Patrick Mills' situation to be resolved.

Dawson, 27, played a total of 39 minutes for the Spurs in four games this season.

Spurs Expected To Sign Justin Dentmon

The Spurs plan to sign guard Justin Dentmon to a 10-day contract, Scott Schroeder of Ridiculous Upside reports. Dentmon had been playing with the Austin Toros, San Antonio's D-League affiliate, where he put up 22.9 points and 5.3 rebounds a night to go along with 42% three-point shooting.

The move gives the Spurs depth at point guard, as Tony Parker missed tonight's game with hamstring soreness and Patrick Mills is still finalizing his work visa. The Diaw signing put the Spurs roster at the maximum 15 players, so they'll have to drop someone before Dentmon can officially join the team. Eric Dawson's 10-day contract is up in a couple days, so the team may simply elect not to re-sign him. Cory Joseph was sent down to the Toros earlier this week, so he could be let go instead.
