The Spurs have signed Eric Dawson to a 10-day contract, the team announced today. Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports (via Twitter) first reported that San Antonio would sign the 27-year-old.
Manu Ginobli (strained oblique) and Tiago Splitter (sprained calf) both suffered injuries this week, so Dawson will provide some depth while the Spurs get healthy. The 6'9" forward had been playing for the D-League's Austin Toros, averaging 15.9 PPG and 10.1 RPG on 56.3% shooting in 18 games. Dawson has yet to make his NBA debut.
Go in there Eric and pound those boards, do not let the NBA intimidate you. Show them what you can do. Rebounds is what gives teams a second chance at points on offense. Seems like you can have a dbl, dbl games just like Mr Fundamentalist himself Tim “Chairman of the Board” Duncan. SILVER AND BLACK IS WHERE IT’S AT…….GO SPURS GO!!
Man Chroa Chandlwr would look nice next to Duncan, Splitter, and Blar. It’s too bad we couldn’t get a deal done with Kaman coming over to the Spurs but if they would have listened to me and done want ever it took to get Tyson Chandler to sign with the Spurs. He’s a perfect fit for the Spurs. He’s long but he’s not a real big body underneath that takes up so much space underneath not giving Parker the room to penitrate to the basket. With Duncan Chandler splitter and The big body Blair are team would look completely different. Allow Duncan to get plenty of rest by starting Chandler and Splitter and putting Blair in once rest is needed for one of them. Kaman would have been a great pick up and I’d take it in a second but a lean tall Chandler that doesn’t clog the lane for Parker and Manu, if Manu would quite falling apart. Instead we have to work with what we got and Duncan’s playing great but now Splitters hurt is a huge set back. Not because we’re gonna miss his production even though he’s played great for the limited minutes he recieves but were gonna miss Tiago becuase he was the only guy who can fill in and help rest Duncan. So now without Splitter is Duncan gonna have to play 35-40 min. a night. If so were one and done in the playoffs. Ho pefully we can get a trade for another good big man. Utah has Derrick Favor who they don’t use, not sure if they just don’t like him but let make a move for Derrick Favors or my favorite choice would be the Pacers Roy Hibbert. A seven footer who would look great next to Duncan then when Duncan’s gone Splitter would look real good standing next to Roy Hibbert. All I’m saying is Duncan won’t play forever and we need to find two very tall and talented Centers, Power Forwards
