1:46pm: Amico's GM source now says talks for Beasley are "collapsing" (Twitter link). Mike Breshanan of the Los Angeles Times also says discussions are falling apart rapidly (Twitter link).
1:16pm: The Lakers are "closing in" on a trade for Michael Beasley, a Western Conference GM tells Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio (Twitter link).
Los Angeles managed to work out a deal for Ramon Sessions without using its $8.9MM trade exception, so the Lakers could absorb Beasley's salary without sending out any players. However, the Sessions deal saw the Lakers give up its 2012 first-round pick, so L.A. only has the Mavericks' 2012 first-rounder to work with now.
Lakers just got filthy
Agreed. Top 3 team in the West now
there a top three teamin the West now, they could be a top 3 team in the league
Bulls Heat Thunder are top 3, no matter the order and I dont see those deals passing them. Then you have the Magic and possibly the 76ers as well and you are probably on par with them or slightly passing them. Especially since top 3 teams dont lose to under 500 teams back-to-back nights…
Fuck your top 3. Go LAKERS
Sessions is not elite but solid, but he is stuck behind Kyrie so its hard to tell. Beasley would do wonders off the bench for LA
if it does go through, I know its past the dead line but much like the MLB dead line deals are announced hours after the deadline it takes the league office a while to approve deals so this could still happen. So if it does happen he would be the starting SF with Artest(i dont care that he changed his name) coming off the bench
I love have Laker fans proclaim getting Sessions makes them an elite team. How cute.
I love how fans like you hate us Lakers fans so much that you can’t help but talk about us!….
For some of you not so smart NBA fans out there who think that the Lakers are not an elite team….. Eh… I have my issues with their lack of play on the road but adding a SOLID PG will allow the Lakers offence to flow better. You people seem to forget that this team went through MAJOR changes already. Phil left, Shannon gone, Odom gone, New coach with a new style and a shorten season.
They are doing pretty damn well for a team that went through this many changes…..
