The Cavaliers and Kevin Jones have reached an agreement on a three-year, partially-guaranteed contract, reports Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv (via Twitter). Jones, a 6'8" forward from West Virginia, went undrafted on Thursday night, despite being ranked as this year's 45th-best prospect by ESPN.com's Chad Ford.
Jones' agent, Bill Neff, told Zagoria last week that a team picking in the first round in the draft had committed to selecting his client. If that didn't materialize, Neff said, he expected Jones to be picked in the second round. While it's easy to write the agent's comments off now, you have to wonder if Cleveland was the team interested in Jones — the Cavs traded three of their picks (Nos. 24, 33, 34) in order to move up and nab Tyler Zeller 17th overall.
In his senior season at WVU, Jones averaged 19.9 PPG and 10.9 RPG with a .509 FG% in 38.3 minutes per contest. Zach Links of Hoops Rumors profiled Jones right here.

Nice pick up for the Cavs. He works hard to prove his ability as an undersized power forward.
This becomes official on the 11?
Believe they could make it official before then if they want to. Jones would be a minimum-salary guy, and those contracts are allowed to be signed during the moratorium.

Thank you Mr. Adams.
Have any other UDFA signed yet?
Lot of guys committed to summer league rosters, but I haven’t seen any other actual contract agreements.

I looked at your July Moratorium page, and it says that the contract can only be for 1 or 2 seasons
Nice catch. Guess that means we may have to wait for the 11th for it to be official, unless there’s another loophole I’m not aware of.

You should have a post dedicated to the Summer League Rosters. See which undrafted guys went where
Yeah, like Minor Moves over on MLBTR.
This was a good pickup for the Cavs. Now they need to jump into the free agent market and sign a couple of decent players. They have a ton of cap room….only the Nets have more.
great sign for the cavs as he may b able to gain a starting role at SF and Gee coming off the bench adding scoring depth,
I like it, the guy was awesome at WV, think maybe there going to make him a small forward? a little small for a NBA PF. but he is a rebounding machine and is decent on defense.he also can hit up to 15 feet. Gee and Casspi might have to step up to beat this guy out if so.
GO MOUNTAINEERS………….. GO CAVS………….
Oh I like it, I like it. Cant wait!!!!
love it
