The Celtics are "aggressively" working to move up in tonight's draft, says Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports (Twitter link). The Celtics currently hold the 21st and 22nd picks in the first round, but are looking to land at least a late-lottery pick, if not something higher, according to Wojnarowski.
Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group points out (via Twitter) that the Warriors (No. 7) could be a potential trade partner for the Celtics, though Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports says Golden State expects to keep its pick and draft the best player available (Twitter link). Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could be a target for the C's, depending on how high a pick they're seeking — according to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News, MKG said the Celtics wanted him badly at the combine (Twitter link).
I have my doubts that simply packaging the 21st and 22nd picks could move the Celtics up more than a few spots, so the team may need to include a player or take on salary in order to move up significantly. With a number of players facing free agency, the Celtics only have six contracts that could be offered in potential deals.

LOL@ the Celtics. They are “Starving for Youth”
everyone is starving for youth
As a C’s fan, I have no idea how I feel about it. If they stay where they are they have a shot at landing Sulliger/Nicholson which could be very solid picks. If they can move one of the first round picks, maybe a second rounder in the future and Etwan Moore or Jauan Johnson then maybe it would be a good idea but it seems like it would cost a little too much if that wouldn’t be the package.
Lol, your stupid if we were starving for you we would keep the two picks and get 2 young players not 1 stupid.Last time I checked rondo is 26 Bradley is 21 Brandon bass 26…That’s just our starters
*youth
Hope celtics do get him pair him with Rondo b unstoppable duo n plus Bradley shit would b cray
I like the idea of them pursuing a lottery pick. With Doc Rivers at the helm and a lottery pick in development, the Celtics will be in good shape for the future. link to wp.me
getting into the top 5 is trading pierce or rondo, so it aint happening
Pierce maybe, cause it sheds salary also. But even at his age, he’s the only go to scorer on the roster. I’d rather see them keep him cause at reduced minutes I feel he can still be one of the top SF in the league.
they have 2 first rounders
They have 2 first rounders…they will probably package them with someone like JuJuan Johnson who is young and has potential
Trade 21 and 22 and Pierce to the Cavs and take Gilchrist or Drummond
not worth it at all…..way to much
