The Charlotte Observer's Rick Bonnell and Tom Sorensen have published several new articles today, covering different aspects of the Bobcats' past and future as the 2012 NBA Draft approaches. The Bobcats hold the second overall pick in the draft.
- Sorensen writes that the Bobcats' draft history has been less than spectacular, pointing to Adam Morrison, Sean May, Raymond Felton, and Emeka Okafor as players who are either out of the league or currently playing on other teams.
- Bonnell believes there are valuable players in the second round of the draft, particularly international players, who could help the Bobcats.
- Bonnell points out that Bobcats owner Michael Jordan's stated desire to build through the draft and land a star player through free agency or trading is not feasible, pointing to data suggesting that stars are hard to come by.
- Bonnell doesn't believe there are many viable options for the Bobcats in the 2012 free-agent class.
