We're still a few days away from free agency and Deron Williams reportedly has yet to decide on his future. However, Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld hears from multiple sources that the prize of the free agent market is leaning toward re-signing with the Nets (Twitter link). Earlier this week, we heard that D-Will had narrowed his options down to the Nets and Mavericks.
A report nearly two months ago suggested that Williams might be leaning toward re-signing, though it cautioned that plenty of variables were still in play, including the playoffs and the draft. For what it's worth, the Mavs' quick exit in the postseason probably didn't do a lot to sell Williams on Dallas, and the Nets were active on draft night, acquiring multiple second-round picks.
Perhaps a more significant factor in Williams' decision will be the maximum contract he could sign with Brooklyn. As I outlined a few weeks ago, re-signing with the Nets would allow the star point guard to secure $25MM+ more in guaranteed money than he'd get signing anywhere else.

Ok.. If D Will is so gun ho to resign in Brooklyn why hasn’t he, he could have signed in Jan, March, April at the AS break, end of season etc…
He has to opt out to get a max contract
He stated all along he likes NJ, but he was going to test free agency. Why is he getting hassled for scouting his options. Dallas to me is far more attractive in terms of possibly winning a ring. If Williams goes this year and they amnesty Haywood and somehow move Marion… Then Howard is in play also. Imagine how Dirk would be able to play with Howard by his side. Two totally different offensive big men and they would gel so well together.
Get that money…Now as for titles? Meh…
WIlliams is staying…. Howard will come in free agency. Hoping the Nets trade for a Josh Smith.
Doubt it. D12 will sign only if D-Will stays and even then the nets are gonna need another piece before title thoughts come into the picture
Howard is not a free agent unless u gonna wait next year
