LaMarcus Aldridge is a no-go for the Olympics as he recovers from right hip surgery, Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports. Aldridge is the third player in the past two days to withdraw from Team USA because of injury, joining Chris Bosh, who pulled out today, and Dwyane Wade, who declined his invitation yesterday.
“He's out,” USA Basketball director Jerry Colangelo said. “LaMarcus sent me an email about a week ago saying he wouldn't be available until around August 1, so that told me all I needed to know. He's out and we're moving forward.”
Aldridge's expected recovery time after his May 10 surgery was two to four months, Haynes writes, so he should be ready for Blazers training camp. Team USA has until July 8 to decide on its roster. The absence of Aldridge opens up yet another spot as Lamar Odom, Blake Griffin and Anthony Davis prepare to try out for the squad next week.

This is sad. World competition, and our boys have too much ego to compete. This encompasses all the wrong with the NBA and its egocentric studs that should recognize their God-given size and ability, but instead make fake commercials about how much they care about their communities and instigate the nation to hate them more (because of the effort at truth, which is stunningly short on sincerity). If you want respect, play for US, the fucking US of A! It’s no wonder 75% of America cheered for the Thunder during the Finals with such pussies representing the Heat. Thank God they represent the Heat and not the US of A! After this “decision” I will never cheer for any of those arrogant bastards again. Please take a huge contract to play in Europe.. you boys obviously aren’t Americans.
