Jason Jones from the Sacramento Bee talked to Kings president Geoff Petrie about the hectic offseason as well as the Kings plans as we get deeper into the summer. Petrie had the following to say:
"A lot of the hot money goes out early. There still players out there who are quality players and there’s still the possibility for trades are certainly still pretty active. We’ve had quite a few conversations on different things and I’m hopeful we’ll get some things done in the next few days."
The Kings selected Thomas Robinson with the fifth overall selection and brought back restricted free agent Jason Thompson. They have a lot of nice young pieces, but it remains to be seen whether or not they fit together. With some creativity, the Kings could have the makings of a bright future in Sacramento. Petrie added:
"We can’t get it all with one player. We would like to do some prudent things to improve our roster and still give us some flexibility going forward. To still improve ourselves at small forward, improve our shooting and probably get a little more creativity in the backcourt if that was possible and continue to build with a young nucleus."

Petrie’s been a motormouth since he was co-ROY with Dave Cowens
