Courtney Lee Becomes Unrestricted Free Agent

7:33PM: Yahoo! Sports columnist Marc J. Spears reports that several teams are interested in Lee's services, including the Bulls, Pacers, Wizards, Mavericks, and Clippers.

6:56PM: The Rockets have withdrawn their qualifying offer to shooting guard Courtney Lee, making him an unrestricted free agent, tweets ESPN.com's Marc Stein. The team previously had the right to match any offers for Lee's services.

Lee will now be able to sign with any team of his choosing, and several organizations, such as the Clippers (who have shown a recent interest in Ray Allen and Jamal Crawford) will most likely make an inquiry. The Rockets made the move as a strategy to keep their eye on their future cap situation, but still have Lee's Bird rights, tweets the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen.

Had Lee accepted Houston's qualifying offer, it could have affected the team's offer sheets to Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin, tweets ESPN.com's John Hollinger.
