The first week of free agency has been a busy one around the NBA, even though most moves can't become official until July 11th. In case you missed a day or two, you can catch up on all the week's big news in this post.
- Deron Williams, the top free agent on the market, spurned his hometown Mavericks, agreeing to re-sign with the Nets for the maximum five years and $98.77MM.
- The Nets and Hawks agreed to a trade that will send Joe Johnson to Brooklyn. Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar, and Anthony Morrow are headed to Atlanta, along with DeShawn Stevenson in a sign-and-trade. The Hawks also get a 2013 first-round pick.
- The Hawks made another deal, agreeing to swap Marvin Williams to the Jazz for Devin Harris.
- Steve Nash is headed to the Lakers as part of a sign-and-trade. The Lakers get Nash at $27MM over three years, and the Suns receive the Lakers' 2013 and 2015 first-round picks and their 2013 and 2014 second-round picks.
- Ray Allen jumped from the Celtics to their Eastern Conference rivals in Miami, agreeing on a deal with the Heat for the $3.09MM mini mid-level exception.
- The Celtics agreed to terms with Mavs free agent sixth man Jason Terry on a three-year deal, likely for the full mid-level exception of $15.675MM.
- The Suns agreed to bring back former backup point guard Goran Dragic, giving him a four-year, $30MM deal to the man who'll likely replace Steve Nash as the starter.
- Brandon Roy will make his comeback with the Timberwolves, agreeing to a two-year, $10.4MM deal.
- George Hill and the Pacers reached an agreement on a five-year, $40MM deal.
- Eric Gordon will sign a maximum four-year, $58MM offer sheet with the Suns, but the Hornets are likely to match.
- Roy Hibbert agreed to ink an offer sheet with the Blazers, likely for the four-year, $58MM maximum amount. The Pacers are undecided about matching.
- Nicolas Batum reached an agreement with the Timberwolves on a four-year, $45MM offer sheet, but the Trail Blazers insist they'll match.
- Jeremy Lin agreed to sign a four-year, $28.8MM offer sheet with the Rockets, but the Knicks are ready to match.
- The Raptors and Landry Fields came to terms on a backloaded offer sheet for three years and$18.7MM.
- The Magic will re-sign point guard Jameer Nelson to a three-year deal.
- The Clippers agreed to sign a pair of guards, coming to terms with Jamal Crawford on a four-year deal and Chauncey Billups on an incentive-laden one-year contract for up to $4.3MM.
- The Rockets agreed to trade Kyle Lowry to the Raptors for Gary Forbes and a first-round pick.
- The Suns will sign former No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley for $18MM over three years.
- Power forward Brandon Bass agreed to re-sign with the Celtics for three years and $20MM.
- Spencer Hawes will become the first player ever to sign with a team that inked him to a qualifying offer the year before, as the Sixers and Hawes agreed to a two-year, $13.1MM deal.
- The Nets and Bosnian forward Mirza Teletovic reached an agreement. Initially it appeared it would be for the full mid-level, but it will be a three-year, $9,687,150 deal for the mini mid-level instead, keeping the Nets from having to deal with a $74MM hard cap this year.
- Jason Kidd has agreed to sign with the Knicks, and the Knicks are trying to make the transaction a sign-and-trade with the Mavericks.
- The Sixers will use the amnesty clause to waive Elton Brand, wiping more than $18MM from their books.
- Nick Young is headed to the Sixers, agreeing to a one-year, $6MM contract.
- Larry Miller stepped down as president of the Trail Blazers.
- The Hornets will get Ryan Anderson in a sign-and-trade with the Magic. Anderson will get a four-year, $36MM deal, and the Magic will get center Gustavo Ayon.
- Reggie Evans will go to the Nets in a sign-and-trade. The Clippers will get a second round pick, likely in 2017 or 2018, as compensation. Evans will get a three-year deal for between $4.8MM and $5MM.
- Power forward Ersan Ilyasova will re-sign with the Bucks for five years and $45MM.
- Jeff Green, who sat out all of 2011/12 with a heart ailment, will return to the Celtics on a four-year, $36MM deal.
- Jason Thompson will be back with the Kings on a multi-year deal worth $6MM per season.
- The Magic will guarantee J.J. Redick's $6.19MM salary for 2012/13.
- The Grizzlies will re-sign Darrell Arthur, coming to terms with the power forward on a three-year deal for between $9MM and $10MM.
- The Grizzlies also agreed to terms with Marreese Speights on a two-year deal worth close to $9MM.
- Rudy Fernandez, last with the Nuggets, signed a three-year deal with Real Madrid.
- The Jazz will re-sign Jeremy Evans to a three-year, $5.5MM deal.
- Kirk Hinrich agreed to return to the Bulls, his first NBA team, for two years and $6MM.
- The Thunder reached an agreement on a two-year deal with Hasheem Thabeet, the second pick in 2009 draft.
- The Suns pulled their qualifying offer to Aaron Brooks, making the point guard an unrestricted free agent.
- The Raptors and center Aaron Gray agreed on a two-year deal for the room exception, which should pay him about $2.5MM a year.
- The Blazers have reached a buyout agreement with Shawne Williams, who was due to make $3.135MM in 2012/13.
- The Bobcats signed No. 2 overall pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
- The Wizards signed No. 3 overall pick Bradley Beal.
- The Cavs signed first-rounders Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller.
- The Warriors signed No. 7 overall pick Harrison Barnes.
- The Magic inked a deal with Andrew Nicholson, the team's first-round pick.
- The Celtics signed draft picks Jared Sullinger, Fab Melo and Kris Joseph.
- The Pacers signed first-round draft pick Miles Plumlee.
- Festus Ezeli, the final pick of the first round in last month's draft, signed with the Warriors.
- The Rockets agreed to terms with 2011 first-round pick Donatas Motiejunas, a big man from Lithuania.
- The Cavs waived guard Manny Harris.
- The Nets signed second-round pick Tyshawn Taylor.
- The Bobcats waived swingman Jamario Moon.
- The Pacers will renounce their rights to A.J. Price, making him an unrestricted free agent.
- The Raptors withdrew their qualifying offer to Jerryd Bayless, making him an unrestricted free agent.
- Darius Morris accepted a qualifying offer from the Lakers.
- Luke Harangody signed his qualifying offer from the Cavs.
- The Knicks agreed to terms with James White, an Italian league star who saw brief action with the Rockets and Spurs a few years ago.
- The Pistons agreed to terms with Ukrainian big man Vyacheslav Kravtsov.
