The Lakers and Clippers both lost on Tuesday, meaning the always-fascinating Pacific Division has been thrust back into the spotllight. Here are the latest rumblings and links from around the division:
- Kobe Bryant tells Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com that the Lakers' age is partially to blame for their recent lack of energy.
- Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News has quotes from Stephen Curry, who likes the Warriors' direction this season and praises the play of David Lee.
- Kings guard Tyreke Evans may return to action in a week, the Associated Press reports (via ESPN.com)
Lakers need to trade Chris Duhon For Raja
Bell. The Jazz are in need of a point guard while Mo Williams is out due
to thumb surgery. The Jazz also would love to get rid of Bell as all he
is doing for them now is taking up a roster spot. The Lakers need a
defensive minded player like Bell to help stop some of the penetration
that is hurting them every game. Bell would be a much better fit to the
starting lineup for the Lakers than Darius Morris as he is a better 3 pt
shooter, defender and knows Dantoni’s system from his days with Nash
and the Suns. Plus we know Kobe would sign off on this trade because he
recruited Bell before he signed with the Jazz. Plus Bell’s and Duhon’s
salaries match up perfectly.
