The Clippers and Celtics finally ended their week long back-and-forth negotation deciding the value of Doc Rivers, with the Clippers finally agreeing to give up an unprotected 2015 first-round draft pick. Is Rivers worth that much?
There’s reports saying both that he’ll sign back on and that he won’t sign with them under any circumstance. Until you hear it from him, it’s just writers trying to fight for pageviews.
Apparently CP3 is closer with Shaw…so no. Rivers is an excellent coach that I’d love to see coach my team, but with both Van Gundy’s and George Karl out there I would’ve held onto the pick. Tony Parker, David Lee, Josh Smith, David West and Rondo were all mid to late first round picks. You never know where that pick winds up if Griffin or CP3 get injured that year.
Considering it’s likely to be a pick between 25-30, then no question he is worth it. We’re not talking lottery.
Unless they fail to sign Paul… then it could be an okay pick. (depending on what else they do this off-season)
I think it’s basically a guarantee he re-resigns at this point – he told them to make this move.

He’s coming back…and I’m not a Clippers fan, so I’m coming to the table with no bias in saying that. This move was done for him, at his direction.
