The Sixers announced that they have waived guard James Anderson, tweets Tom Moore of Calkins Media. Anderson’s salary would have become fully guaranteed if he was on the roster on July 1st, so Philly saves about $1MM by cutting him loose.
Anderson, a former first round pick of the Spurs, played in a career-high 80 games under former San Antonio assistant Brett Brown last season. Anderson averaged 10.1 PPG and 3.8 RPG with a PER of 10.9.
So glad to see this clown go. He couldn’t make a shot to save his life last year.
He dropped 30+ points three times last season.. Did you watch any games last season.. Dude gave us good numbers for a player with a 800k nonguaranteed contract.

Wow dude played pretty well for us last year thought they would of kept definitely kept him…
His position was upgraded in the draft with youth. KJ McDaniels and Jordan McRae. I like Anderson, but he wasn’t special. He was a huge liability on the defensive side of the ball. People talk about our lack of shooting. We were also a horrible defensive team. McDaniels, Grant, and to a lesser degree McRae are all outstanding defenders.
anderson did his best for a bad team. sure he no superstar but he not that bad either
His salary is pretty reasonable and I don’t think keep him will somehow
obstruct young guys developing. Very strange decision IMO.
