If the Cavaliers are going to make a major change this offseason, it’ll be Kevin Love on the trading block, reports Chris Mannix of The Vertical. “If they go out like this, I’m betting on a Kevin Love auction,” one league executive tells Mannix. Love had just five points in 21 minutes during Sunday night’s blowout loss to the Warriors.
Here’s more from around the league:
- The Knicks are rumored to have interest in Evan Turner and Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders hears that the interest in mutual (Twitter link). Turner will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
- Bulls forward Jimmy Butler has a strong desire to play in the Olympics despite hearing about all the players who will sit out, Vincent Goodwill of Comcast Sportsnet tweets.
- Nick Minnerath has worked out for the Clippers, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders tweets. Minnerath, who formerly played for the Canton Charge of the D-League, will also attend free agent mini-camps with the Pistons and Mavs later this month.
In Kevin Love’s defense for his poor Game 2, he did leave early with a concussion. But I agree, I think he would be the piece to be moved since he’s struggled to fit in. Although if I’m the Cavs I would also see what I could get for Kyrie as he hasn’t exactly been a perfect match for LeBron either. Not saying they should trade Kyrie but at least see what teams would be willing to offer.
Kyrie seems to be the square peg in the round hole. Not really a good fit for Cavs and Lebron.
I like the idea of Kyrie to Philadelphia for Noel and picks or maybe Saric? Then try and sign Conley.
Philly doesn’t have enough to offer for Kyrie. Philly probably wouldn’t give up the #1 pick so any other picks or Saric isn’t helping for a couple of years. Boosting Kyrie’s value is that he’s an all-star caliber player so a hypothetical Philly deal would probably be Noel, Covington, and that #1 pick. Philly doesn’t have enough assets that would be valuable to a championship contender.
Kyrie is gone. He and LBJ don’t like each other. Kyrie goes to paper clips for chris Paul.
Doc won’t let Paul go.
Kevin love for melo and irvin traded for cp3
Love has worth value than Melo and so has Irving for Paul, so Cavs have to give up more pieces
Trade kevin love for carmelo anthony then swap kyrie irvin for cp3. That would be a scary team to have
melo doesnt play defense either
LeBron is the problem, not Love or Kyrie.
I agree. Lebron can’t shoot the ball anymore and, at times, has cost them games.
