The Nets have acquired another draft pick, as the Jazz agreed to trade the 42nd choice to Brooklyn in exchange for pick No. 55 and cash, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical. The Nets used that pick to take Seton Hall shooting guard Isaiah Whitehead.
The 6’5″ freshman turned into a dangerous 3-point weapon for the Pirates, connecting on 37% from long distance while averaging 18.2 points and 5.1 assists per game. He led Seton Hall to an upset of national champion Villanova in the Big East title game.
Whitehead was ranked as the 52nd best prospect in this year’s draft by ESPN’s Chad Ford and 57th by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.
Pretty good night for Brooklyn, especially coming in without picks
Great night for the Boston Celtics. The Nets are like the gift that keeps on giving. They give away their second best player in Young for an unknown 20th pick and now Lopez has no one to help him out. As for Boston they have to be laughing all the way to the bank. Not only did they dump two players on Social Security in Pierce and Garnett for a bushel of draft picks but they have the right to swap for next years Nets number one which again will be the number one two or three pick. Can anyone see this awful Nets team even winning 15 games? It may prove to be the worst team in NBA history.
They still have $50 mil in capspace genius. Prob gonna be around a 33-36 win team
If they sign ish smith, parsons and scrap heap someone like al jefferson on 1-2 yr deals, they can already bang with the celtics. They have a decent squad but are sitting as a 4-5 at best
33-36 is a bit generous considering they won 21 games last year. That 33-36 game area is hovering on that “in playoff contention late in the season” area and the Nets are no where near that spot unless they bring in one or two good free agents.
Just watch…
