More than six months after the two teams last met, the Cavaliers and Warriors essentially recreated Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, with Kyrie Irving the game-winning shot to give Cleveland a dramatic victory over Golden State. The two teams look a little different now – both short a few role players, though the Warriors have added one notable star in Kevin Durant – but the result in the first 2016/17 rematch between the two finalists was the same as it was in June.
Although there has been some grumbling among NBA fans and observers about the apparent inevitability of another Cavaliers/Warriors matchup in the 2017 NBA Finals, the Christmas Day game served as an excellent reminder that a rematch between the two things would certainly be entertaining, if not surprising. There’s no guarantee that one of the two powerhouses won’t get knocked off along the way, but for now the 23-6 Cavs and the 27-5 Warriors sit atop their respective conferences, and look like the odds-on favorites to vie for a championship.
So, in the wake of Sunday’s result, today’s poll question is a simple one. If the Cavs and Warriors meet again in the Finals, who do you like? Health could play a big part in the outcome, and each team could have a midseason transaction or two up its sleeve, but for now, let’s assume that both teams remain relatively healthy and intact, with Cleveland getting J.R. Smith back for the playoffs.

Cavs in 3
You need to win 4 games though. Nice try. I can tell you barely started to watch basketball but it’s all good.
this guy is super fun at parties^
*Whoosh*
Too early to tell but cavs winning yesterday and how they won is not a good sign for the warriors. Draymom can’t keep his cool when he plays in high intensity games. The warriors blew a big 4th quarter lead. Durant played great but was invisible in the last 6 minutes of the game. Curry played poorly against the cavs D again. But most of all kyrie continues to kill the warriors no matter how good the D they play on him is.
Well if you were t’d up for a clear non-call then you would be furious too. Even Mark Jackson was defending Draymond and he really hates the warriors (for obvious reasons). Just turns out to be that he call was in Draymond-so everybody will (and has) made a big deal out of it. Can’t fault him for this game but for the finals/WCF I can.
Do you watch NBA games?Every single game there are calls that shouldn’t be called that are called and there are calls that aren’t called that should be. What about when deaymon ran over Kevin love and was clearly a charge but it didn’t get called. I didn’t see K Love stand up and freak out at the ref. Bottom line is draymon is emotionally unstable in big games. He’s proved it over and over again in the playoffs last year and is continuing to make the same mistakes.
How about Richard Jefferson tripping KD on the last play? These games will never end correctly the way these refs officiate. Reminds me of game 6 of the finals last year.
This is why baseball is a much better sport to watch.
