Andrew Bogut does not regret choosing to be traded to the Mavs over the Rockets, and cited off-the-court reasons for why he enjoys Dallas while admitting coming off the bench for a losing team is difficult, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. Bogut also added that he would prefer not to be traded by the Mavs, but understands it’s a distinct possibility, MacMahon relays (ESPN NOW link).
Here is more on the Mavs:
- With his contract set to expire, Bogut does not anticipate staying in Dallas, but coach Rick Carlisle said it’s a “real possibility” the Mavs could re-sign him this summer, Earl K. Sneed of NBA.com passes along via Twitter.
- Seth Curry has played well in the Mavs’ backcourt, particularly in the way he has provided scoring, and will be hard to take away with J.J. Barea back, Eddie Sefko of the Dallas Morning News writes.
- Barea looked sharp in his return and the Mavs are hopeful his presence will help reel off some wins and an unlikely playoff berth, Sefko writes in a separate piece.
Why are the Mavs so wrapped up in trying to make the playoffs? Does anyone in the front office really expect them to make any noise if they were to sneak in? Trade anyone and everyone and quit dragging out this rebuild.
Absolutely agree! All this “Make the playoffs” talk from the organization makes me question their basketball intelligence. Get as many 2017 and 18 picks as possible and move on
It’s because of Dirk. I don’t think they want to, but they have enough respect to at least appear to be trying.
