While the Cavs have long clinched a postseason spot, LeBron James wasn’t happy with the team’s focus (or lack thereof) in Thursday’s 99-93 loss to the Bulls. James spoke to reporters after the game, emphasizing the importance of finishing the regular season strong.
“We’re just in a bad spot right now,” James told Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com. “I think the effort was there. I just don’t think the concentration for as close to 48 minutes is there yet. Which is unfortunate. Tomorrow’s another day. It’s another opportunity, but we’ve got some work to do. We don’t have a lot of time.”
Indeed, with just eight games left before the playoffs, the Cavs have a limited timeframe to overtake Boston for the first seed in the Eastern Conference. Now 4-6 over their last 10, Cleveland’s late-season struggles have been much publicized.
According to a recent report from Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, veteran James Jones addressed the team following a recent loss, asking his teammates what they wanted out of the season. Additionally, a source told Vardon that a difficult road schedule combined with losing has resulted in “frayed nerves.”
“To be perfectly honest, we’re probably all over the place,” Irving added after last night’s road loss. “It’s no time to kind of back up into the wall and panic. I’m not panicking and I don’t think anyone in this locker room should panic. We’re going to be just fine. It’s ugly right now. It’s real, real ugly. But we’ll get out of this, we’ll be fine.”
Lebron you weak bum, you act like you are playing with a lottery team, start shooting 20-30 shots and quit all this passing crap, you are 6’8 250-270 and don’t even take advantage of it.
This is where Jordan and James differentiate. Jordan didn’t have issues concentrating. And he didn’t let his team’s slack off either. Too much talent on the Cavs to experience these issues.
Millenials…
When the millenials take over the world, I sure hope the world has a detailed step-by-step instruction manual with pictures.
Lol. Indeed.
What a weirdo
Lebron was born in the 80s…
Which qualifies him as a millenial – 1980-95.
Maybe they should try and get more talent on the team!
/s
Lol, they have plenty of talent on the team.
How is the league going to hand lebron another championship if they can’t even beat lottery teams? Suspend entire teams?
I don’t even like Lebron but I’ll give it to the dude he is smart, he’s older now so he surrounded himself with a team full of shooters come playoff time he’s gonna get minimum 9 assists and coast to the Finals, they’ll need to play better defense to beat the Warriors in a series though.
Biggest flaw in lebron a game is he isn’t that good of a Shooter. Kyrie is a 1 on 1 player, leaving love has been turned into a spot up shooter. They have to hope smith, korver, frye, both Williams and shimpert can make some shots.
They are trying to act all confident like they aren’t worried now it’s funny, Kyrie tonight became the enforcer! protecting his brother! Lebron sure does blame a lot of thins for being such a great player who is the main reason for his championships, or maybe it was really the fact he has been on great teams. He ain’t Jordan, he ain’t kobe, and I’ll take watching curry or durant over him anyway just based on skill, shooting and attitude. That look on lebrons face when he gets ball stolen, shot blocked or misses, that look just kills me, he doesn’t want a fair win he wants special treatment from refs, he wants to bash teammates and have them now down, he wants to worry so Much about what Charles Barkley says?!? He’s got that fake swagger, especially now, they know they have been exposed, all teams now feel confident against them, no more fear
A lot of LeBron haters on this post
He’s a fraud
