It’s time for the Pacers to deal Paul George since he can become a free agent next summer, Moke Hamilton of Basketball Insiders contends. Hamilton compares the Pacers’ situation to the Jazz’s back in 2011. Utah sent Deron Williams to the Nets when the point guard still had over a year left on his contract. Brooklyn gave up quite a haul for Williams and the Jazz were able to easily rebuild. Hamilton names the Lakers as a potential trade partner.
Here’s more from the Eastern Conference:
- The Cavaliers won Game 4 against the Pacers today and Williams played a key role in the win, as Chris Fedor of The Northeast Ohio Media group details. Williams can to Cleveland via the buyout market this season. It was previously reported that the waiver and buyout process could be altered this offseason.
- Coach Brad Stevens surprisingly started Gerald Green in Game 3 of the Celtics’ series against the Bulls and Green will get the nod again in Game 4, Jared Weiss of SB Nation relays. Green is on a one-year, minimum salary deal and he’ll be a free agent this offseason.
- Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post wonders if the Raptors are going to pay Kyle Lowry a max contract if they lose in the first round. Bontemps believes rival teams, like the Sixers, will be willing to pay him the max for his services regardless of Toronto’s playoff success. Lowry can become a free agent this summer.
Pls Magic, take PG13 off our hands. He is a good support player but not “the man “. He thinks he is but look at the shooting stats from last two games. Last shot today…air all! Save the $ and let him go!
He is a first option its just he doesn’t have a good enough team to win, Westbrook has been scoring a whole lot and is down 3-1 to Houston and likely losing. Lebron gave everyone the formula which he learned from Boston, get 3 all-star talents together and make that talent sacrifice to win. The Lakers should offer Clarkson, their pick, and Randle(if it is not top 3) for George, bring in Blake Griffin and J.J Redick and watch the Lakers get back to the top because Russell will be ready to be that all-star level PG next season.
I’d rather trade the pick and Ingram. If George does come I think his best position is SF and same for BI. I don’t see Ingram being strong enough ever to play the 4, even in a league with today’s stretch 4. Idk maybe it’s cause I see Ingram’s ceiling more as Rudy Gay as opposed to Kevin Durant (which is still a damn good player) but I think a guy like Randle’s ability to be that Draymond-like player is too invaluable to give up. Also I really like JC as that bench option. So… in the idea that the Lakers keep their pick this season. Idk how Pacers turn down an offer of the Lakers and Houston’s 2017 first round picks and Brandon Ingram for Paul George.
Unlike previous trades for Nash and D12 we’d get a player in his prime and still have a young core. Potential lineup
PG: D’Angelo Russell, Tyler Ennis
SG: Nick Young, Jordan Clarkson
SF: Paul George, Luol Deng
PF: Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr.
C: Ivica Zubac, Tarik Black, Moz
Dude George wants to go to LA and I’m fine with Russell because I believe he will be special in another year or so but Randle,Zubac, and Young are not good enough offensively for George to get them anywhere.
D’Angelo is garbage. He is not a team player at all. He should go no matter what this offseason. Randle, Ingram and Nance should all be close to if not untouchable same with the pick if it is top 3.
I guess we watched 2 different guys post all star game
Russell will be special, wait till he gets his body right and loses all that baby fat. You seen what Waiters did after he trimmed down this season, watch Russell next season.
Larry just give it up, no one out there in free agency is going to make George stay in Indiana long-term. Build around Turner and let Magic bring in Paul to be the next Kobe, he has the talent to do it and he is in his prime
