Tuesday’s NBA draft lottery officially established the order for the top 14 picks next month, and contributed to finalizing the rest of this year’s draft order as well. Trades can – and likely will – happen in the coming weeks, and on draft night itself. But for now, we know what the 60 picks in the 2017 NBA draft will look like.
After breaking down this year’s draft picks by round on Tuesday night, we’ll examine 2017’s selections by team today. No club in ’17 has stockpiled picks like the Celtics did a year ago, when they had eight, but a handful of teams have added at least a couple extra selections, with the Sixers’ five picks leading the way. Those teams at the top of our list will likely be busy fielding calls about possible trades in the weeks, days, and hours leading up to the draft.
Teams listed below are sorted by their total number of picks, with their highest pick acting as a tiebreaker. Here’s the full breakdown:
- Philadelphia 76ers (5): 1, 36, 39, 46, 50
- Boston Celtics (4): 3, 37, 53, 56
- Orlando Magic (4): 6, 25, 33, 35
- Utah Jazz (4): 24, 30, 42, 55
- Phoenix Suns (3): 4, 32, 54
- Sacramento Kings (3): 5, 10, 34
- New York Knicks (3): 8, 44, 58
- Portland Trail Blazers (3): 15, 20, 26
- Atlanta Hawks (3): 19, 31, 60
- Brooklyn Nets (3): 22, 27, 57
- Los Angeles Lakers (2): 2, 28
- Charlotte Hornets (2): 11, 41
- Denver Nuggets (2): 13, 49
- Chicago Bulls (2): 16, 38
- Milwaukee Bucks (2): 17, 48
- Indiana Pacers (2): 18, 47
- Oklahoma City Thunder (2): 21, 51

The Cavaliers, Warriors, Clippers, and Grizzlies currently don’t have any picks in the 2017 draft.
C’s will have to do something with some of those picks
lol didn’t we say the same thing last year
Trade them for more picks next year
strAinge needs to do something NOW. Can’t keep all these picks and waste a bunch on draft and stash.
Deal one guard plus some pics for an impact player and also sign a great free agent.
That gives you Horford Thomas Crowder maybe one rookie and two new studs.
(They’re still the) Clippers are in a world of hurt.
Zero draft picks and ready to give Max money to 2 “has been” stars who are often injured. Wow big trouble ahead.
It’s interesting that the Clippers lack of a pick isn’t mentioned in the article. They should still be listed with a big old ZERO
We do mention them at the bottom, along with the three other teams who don’t have a pick this year (clearly not as big a deal for a couple of them).
People always have to be looking to write something negative
Blazers should make a push for Paul George. That could get them over the top. 3 pics in the bank, plus decent tradables.
Portland should trade the 15 and 20 and Crabbe and Al Farouq Aminu for PG13
Celtics would outbid and there’s no point in not calling them and the Lakers and say top it or he’s gone.
Yeah BOS and LAL could easily outbid POR but I was just trying to build off of what Gary said
Portland could have an advantage if Paul George decided to sign an extension there but not with the Lakers or the Celtics. Portland is that far ahead and closer to competing for a championship.
Trail Blazers:
Carmelo Anthony
Timberwolves:
15th pick
20th pick
26th pick
Festus Ezeli
Knicks:
7th pick
Allen Crabbe
Plus 44th pick to Trailblazers
And 58th to the timberwolves
I don’t think the Wolves trade 7 for more picks. But that’s just me.
I think they would do this because it allows them to acquire much needed depth. They would be in position to draft either ferguson or anuobby, while also potentially Leaf, Giles, rabb, ojeleye, and adebayo
