The Bulls are considering front office changes this offseason, which may include more day-to-day control of the team for vice president John Paxson, tweets Marc Stein of ESPN.com.
That ties into a story from K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune, who suggests that “subtle” front office changes are in the works. Organizational meetings are planned for this week, and management may hold a press conference to announce the moves as soon as tomorrow.
Behind the scenes, the Reinsdorf family still has faith in its management team, but team president Michael Reinsdorf is an advocate for more debate on key decisions. Paxson’s brother, Jim, a former GM of the Cavaliers, is someone who could be given a stronger voice in the organization.
While I like Pax more than Gar (its like choosing how you’d want to be tortured) this is just more of the same. They need an outside voice and an organizational shake up. A greater dedication to analytics and a direction would be nice. This doesn’t inspire confidence at all.
Expand? He should be fired! This proves Reinsdorf is incoherent and in a home.
I agree 100%
Great news for the rest of the league.
Disgusting display of nepotism
I expect nothing less year in and year out
Why do Bulls fans want rid of Hoiberg? I feel like he does good with what he has
He has no control over the team. Doesn’t call the plays. Has no voice in the Locker room (multiple players have stated this). They’ve done well because of Jimmy and Rondos late resurgence.
None of the players respect him. And there’s enough talent to play better than they do. FIRE HOIBURG!
What talent? They have one star player, two average veterans in Wade and Rondo, and a bunch of marginal bench players. They’re a .500 team who barely earned an 8th seed in a pathetically weak conference. Get real.
Beautifully worded. The Bulls epitomize mediocrity because they settle for mediocrity. I love big swings even if they produce big misses. The Bulls desperately need to be rebuilt from the ground up. The only real potential add for them in the offseason is Melo. Imagine that train wreck. Tear it down. Rebuild it. If it doesn’t work, try again. The 8th seed means nothing.
He’s spineless. They walk all over him. He has no control over those guys at all. You need a Popovich or Thibodeau type coach in this city. Nothing else will work.
Heck, he has already ruined this franchise. What more can he do to hurt it? Maybe he trades Butler for the rights to a 47 year-old, one-legged guard from the Slovenian League?
A player with only 1 leg? I think that’s one too many legs for them to consider lol
