De’Aaron Fox of Kentucky is slated to work out for the 76ers this weekend, reports Keith Pompey of Philly.com. The workout is tentatively scheduled for Saturday. Fox worked out for the second-pick-possessing Lakers on Tuesday. Philadelphia holds the third overall pick. Pompey also adds that former Miami shooting guard Davon Reed will work out for the Sixers on Friday.
Here’s more professional basketball from the City of Brotherly Love:
- Malik Monk (Kentucky) will work out for the Sixers on Thursday, according to Derek Bodner of The Ringer (link via Twitter).
- Other prospects scheduled to work out for Philadelphia on Thursday include Dillon Brooks (Oregon), Dylan Ennis (Oregon), Jack Gibbs (Davidson), Josh Hart (Villanova), Tidjan Keita (France), and Darryl Reynolds (Villanova), also via Bodner (link via Twitter). This workout will be separate from Monk’s.
- Furkan Korkmaz, who was drafted by Philly a year ago but has yet to play an NBA game, will play for Turkey’s under-20 team, which overlaps with the Las Vegas Summer League schedule, reports Bodner (link via Twitter). Still, Korkmaz is undecided on whether he will play for the 76ers during the summer league, adds Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly.com (link via Twitter).
- The Sixers are considering using at least a couple of their four second-round picks on draft-and-stash options and Jonah Bolden (Australia) is one of the prospects they are most closely following, reports Orazio Cauchi of Sportando.com. Bolden played one season for UCLA before beginning his professional career in Europe’s Adriatic League.
These draft and stash guys are a joke. What’s the purpose. Trade/package the picks and move up in the draft and get decent talent that can help you win. If they are legit prospects, they don’t need to be stashed. Half don’t come over and 99 out of the 100 that do come over don’t contribute a thing.
Celtics did it twice in round one last year and both guys had great seasons overseas. They will both be rotation pieces next season in Boston.
Dario Saric was a draft and stash…. You’ve heard of him right 2014 draft? Korkmaz is 6-7 SG that shoots over 40% from 3pt land. He’s 19. He’ll be a Sixer for the 2018-19 season most likely b/c of contract.
How’d the Spurs make out with draft and stash? Lol
I guess you’re right. It’s just been so long since the sixers have been worth watching and then when Embid finally got on the floor for 20 games he got me excited about pro basketball again in the philly area.
IF I were BC I’d trade back to 5 & 10. I’d take Isaac at 5. I would trade the 10 for an unprotected pick in the 2018 draft. I’d trade Gerald Henderson & Nick Stauskas for Allen Crabbe + a future unprotected 1st round pick (I don’t want this year’s)
Get/Keep all my assets so I have enough ammo to go up and get Michael Porter Jr.
Why in the world would 76ers trade a top 10 pick in this draft for some unknown pick in next years draft?? And draft another guy for front court? They need floor spacing shooters. Keep dreaming man.
Only thing that made sense was trade for crabbe but again that would include a pick in this years draft, not next
“And draft another guy for front court? They need floor spacing shooters.”
Isaac is a floor-spacing shooter. I think there’s a really good chance they’re going to take him at 3 if they’re actually serious about Simmons at PG.
Do you even know who Isaac is? Think somewhere between Brandon Ingram and Kevin Durant. 6’11 w/ 7’1 wingspan and guard skills. Very good all-around skills. And he’ll D up. He also shoots 3’s @ 34%.
Again. Even though they’re trying to clear money, Portland doesn’t just give Crabbe away. I think it might take Covington
Name a team that takes on 18.5M for a guy coming off foot surgery.
1. The Kings are pretty stupid, but the 5 and 10 would be a lot to get De’Aaron Fox.
2. Gerald Henderson has a non-guaranteed contract and no real value to Portland. If the Sixers want Crabbe in a similar deal to the one you suggest, it’s Stauskas + a #1 pick (probably with some lottery protection) for Crabbe. Crabbe isn’t anything special, but he’s way too good to require a #1 pick to just dump is salary.
3. If Michael Porter Jr. is what you hope he is, there’s no way anybody could trade up to get him. The two random picks you think the Sixers are magically acquiring + the #2 pick wouldn’t get your the #1 pick if Porter is a franchise player.
The value to Portland is they are so far over the cap this year and beyond they are willing to dump Crabbe Turner Leonard and attach a 1st round pick to them. Story has been out. That’s exactly why Henderson’s non guaranteed contract is valuable. Know what your talking about first. The Sixers already have two picks in 2018 and the 2019 Kings unprotected pick.
But again. Just b/c they’re willing to attach them to a pick to move them, doesn’t mean they’ll take nothing back for him. Allen Crabbe is their 3rd scorer on the wing. They aren’t just going to give him away, even though they’d like to cut salary.
Also it’s a 4 player draft between Porter, Bamba, Ayton, and Doncic anyone of them an go #1 overall. And that’s until Trevon Duval jumps into the conversation. In other words, 2018 draft is stacked too. But with a bunch of Bigs.
Woj said on podcast today Sacramento isn’t doing it
Probably didn’t think Buddy Heild would be the centerpiece of a Boogie Cousins trad either.
Don’t forget SG Lonnie Walker. PA Gatorade player of the year 2 straight years. Seen him 4 years in Reading PA. Closest thing to Billy Owens and Kobe coming out of high school I’ve seen. This kids going to be great! Also won MVP of the Jordan classic.2018 Draft will be amazing
Maybe I’ll have to go down to the bank atlantic center this year and check him out while he’s at UM
