10:45pm: Count the Rockets among those interested in Iguodala. Chris Haynes of ESPN writes that Houston has secured a meeting with the veteran as well.
7:49pm: The Spurs aren’t the only team with whom Iguodala will meet tonight. Ramona Shelburne of ESPN writes that the forward will also meet with the Kings when the free agency period officially opens.
6:00pm: When the free agency period formally begins tonight, Andre Iguodala will meet with the Spurs, Chris Haynes of ESPN tweets. The veteran has spent the past four seasons with the Warriors, winning a pair of titles and one Finals MVP.
The news comes on the heels of a Zach Lowe revelation that Iguodala and the Warriors don’t currently have any meetings scheduled. That said, Lowe also points out that the two parties are still optimistic about working out a deal that would bring Iggy back into the fold for the reigning champions.
The Spurs are currently projected to have about $23MM in cap space and could benefit from having another veteran wing player on board in the event that Jonathon Simmons pursues an offer that they’re not keen to match.
The meeting doesn’t necessarily mean Iguodala is actively looking to ply his trade elsewhere in 2017/18 – instead, as Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News suggests, the forward could be simply gauging what his market is.
This will be huge. kawhi and iggy on the floor(at the same time) will cause fits against the warriors.
WILL? Where does it say that it’s happening?
not going to happen
If you slot Iggy in with Danny Green and Kawhi that’ll be a defensive night mare. You had to know eventually guys would want the money they deserve and GS just cant afford them.
money there owed ? Iguodala made huge money dont blame him for checking out market ill bet you he gos back to warriors with offers from other teams and warriors will match the warriors have his bird rights as well as curry so they can keep and play everyone maybe im wrong here but Iggy love the bay area and this team has a shot at greatest of all time why would he want to leave ….KEEP THE HAMPTON 5 TOGETHER 4EVER
Ever heard of grammar or punctuation??
lol nice reply i guess that’s the reply one gets when one is left speechless.
Actually yes. Half of what you wrote clearly does not make sense. You didn’t read what you wrote, nor did you finish high school did you?
Idk, I just can’t see Iggy in a Spurs uniform…Although, the way the NBA is these days, anyone can end up anywhere at anytime…
I love the abilities of the players these days, they are ridiculously athletic and talented, but the game as a whole is getting pretty soft…There are very few big, heated rivalries, and you don’t really see the banging and scrapping down low like you used to…
But, at the same time, the talent is better, the player’s are more in the publics eye and accessible, and the players are much more versatile, especially the bigs…So, idk just rambling…don’t mind me lol
AI stays at 12-13 million per for 3 years, Livingston at 9-10 million per for 2-3 years. No way GS messes this up. If they do, they could theoretically lose Durant. They have the money. Luxury tax is of no concern to them. I’d be shocked if he isn’t back with GS. This stuff is all smokescreens and attempts by him to get a slightly higher offer from GS, probably closer to $16 million, which they’ll go to if they have to
How many times are you going to post the exact same comment?
Slightly changed, but it’s 100% relevant, considering the “rumor.” People getting all excited like GS is breaking up, but obviously that isn’t happening
Looks like they just got Livingston to stay for 3/$24 so more to offer Iggy
Lacob bought the Warriors for 450 million now they’re worth 2 billion or whatever?
They’ll go over the tax to keep Iggy and Livingston.
This is a once every lifetime opportunity for the owner to win maybe three or four championships, if they’re lucky.
Got to keep this group together and add some one-year guys to replace the one-year guys that are going to get paid. Pachulia McGee Clark Etc.
Plus it’s hard to picture Iguodala on the Spurs. Aren’t they kind of an older Warriors team built for winning the championship and not a lot of money to give out?
If Iggy was going to leave the Warriors and go for the money he’d go with a team with a lot more cap room and that doesn’t sound appealing to a guy like him that’s why he went to the Warriors in the first place and left Denver. My money says he stays. With the Warriors.
