Sacramento has waived Anthony Tolliver, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical (Twitter link). Tolliver’s $8MM contract was only guaranteed for $2MM unless he remained on the roster past today, The Vertical’s Bobby Marks tweets. The Kings will save $6MM from the move.
Marks adds that the team could choose to stretch the $2MM cap hit over the next three seasons. In that scenario, the Kings would have approximately $667K on each season’s cap sheet.
Tolliver, who turned 32 today, signed a two-year, $16MM deal with the Kings last offseason. He played in 65 games, scoring 7.1 points per contest during his lone season in Sacramento.

He’ll hook on with SA and be a ring chasing reserve big
I was thinking Indiana, Boston, or Toronto. If Boston is sold on Yabuselse and Zizic, Tolliver makes sense as that takes away the rebounding need and just lets them add a veteran big, and he can shoot which is a positive. I remember he went off against Boston a couple times while with the Pistons. Indiana if they keep George and want to contend, Toronto if they don’t want to pay Patterson big $$.
Not really sure why Boston would be in on him. Better options and guys like Yabusele and Zizic coming over and Olynyk possibly staying. Heck, I would rather bring back Jerebko before Tolliver, really.
Because he’d be a mentor for the young guys, cheaper than Olynyk, and better than Jerebko.
Kings must be freeing cap room for Lebron or KD…or maybe both.
