The Cavaliers held off the Warriors on Friday night, thwarting Golden State’s chances of sweeping the entire postseason, and delaying the end of the 2016/17 NBA season by at least one more game. However, the Cavs will have their work cut out for them in Game 5 as they try to steal a game in Oakland and send the series back to Cleveland for Game 6.
As dominant as the Warriors have been overall in the postseason, they’ve been even better at home. Outside of a Game 1 blip against the Spurs, when Golden State had to battle back to win a close 113-111 game, each of the Dubs’ home victories in the playoffs have been by double-digit margins. In their last three home games, the Warriors have defeated the Spurs by 36, and the Cavs by 22 and 19.
The Cavaliers showed in Game 4 that they have the offensive firepower necessary to hang with the Warriors, but Cleveland really came out firing on all cylinders in that contest, setting a new NBA Finals record for most points in a half. If the Cavs need to have a performance like that again to send the series back to Cleveland, they’re probably in trouble.
What do you think? Was Cleveland’s Game 4 win just delaying the inevitable until tonight, or can the Cavs win another game and head back to Cleveland down 3-2?

Puh- leeze.
Back to reality Cavs fans. They played out of their minds on Friday. 70% from three-point land? Unsustainable even in the most optimistic circumstances.
I was impressed though that the Cavs did not give up. Very impressed. Many teams would have rolled over. Houston? Lol. Many teams don’t have the ability. Washington? Boston? So in many ways I applaud the Cavaliers.
But I think the Warriors get down to business and finish this off. Everyone remembers last year, most importantly those in the Warrior locker room. Evan Durant was up 3-1 and lost in his series last year.
53% 3PT
59% first half was pretty nice anyways.
#CavsIn7
I hope
NBA has to make their money. Let’s see if they can push this out to 7 games.
I believe if the Cavs loses then it puts a nail in the coffin on the who’s better between Jordan and James it’s Jordan by far Jordan won 6 titles with subpar players were James can win with great players with him
What planet has Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Grant, etc as subpar players?
Exactly, so many of theses Jordan lovers act like he didn’t have a squad around him.
Every championship team since the 80s had squads. This is what it takes to win.
PIPPEN is amazing along with grant
In talking about compared to the teams James has had
Yes Pippen was a great player but that’s still not what James has had for his teams
And by they way I’m not a Jordan fan never cared for him
Pippen and all those other guys made it to the eastern conference finals the year after Jordan left?!?!? Jordan played with two of the best defensive players of all time in pippen and
Rodmam. If Bron had Rodman and pippen over Irving and Love he’d have a better team for sure!!
If the Cav can steal one from the Warriors to night I believe the Cav would take it in seven from the Warriors. U can’t bet against LaBron !I am waiting to see K Korver to break out, as well D. Williams, etc “life tells me time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all!
In all likely good the warriors win game 5 and celebrate tonight. But if somehow the cavs pull this thing out tonight it’s going 7 and if I’m a golden state fan I would start to get real nervous.
LeBron and “super Teams” is very boring.
We from Germany hopes that’s a big change for the future when LeBron Ritire ..
We from Germany don’t like superteams? So Borrusia Dortmund and Bayern Munich don’t exist?
I would argue that the best players of all time are team players.
Selfish guys eliminate that very important category from their arsenal. Is provides so much to help a team win when you can work with the unit.
Yes Team players are the true best so James is out of this confo.
Warriors, the Cavs can’t play that good back to back.
Depends on the shooting again and how much the refs decide to get involved. That shooting allowed the Cavs to not need ref help. But darn it, the refs didn’t get the memo and interjected themselves in the game whenever it got to around a 14 point lead. The letting Lebron and Durant get nose to nose and then T-ing them up while standing there and letting it happen. The refereeing ended up being poor both ways but they started out the game letting us as fans know that the Warriors weren’t winning the game regardless of their otherworldly shooting making them unnecessary.
