Otto Porter and Bojan Bogdanovic have received qualifying offers from the Wizards, making the duo restricted free agents, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post tweets.
The qualifying offer for Porter, worth $7,732,904, was a mere formality. He will be one of the most sought-after restricted free agents on the market this summer. The small forward averaged 13.4 PPG and 6.4 RPG last season.
Bogdanovic averaged 12.7 PPG and shot 39.1% from long range in 26 games off the bench after being acquired from the Nets in mid-season. The shooting guard’s qualifying offer is worth $4,663,317.
nets definitely getting Bo and porter
Can nets sign bogdanovic since he was just traded from them?
Porter isn’t going anywhere
The Wizards aren’t letting Porter go and I’m pretty sure the Nets can’t make an offer to Bogdanovic. Good try though.
Potentially interesting thing to note in regards to Porter, John Wall indirectly called Porter the weak link in the Wizards’ starting lineup while saying how he was trying to recruit Paul George to Washington. His quote to The Undefeated:
“Look at our team. We are one piece away. We have the point guard, we have the shooting guard, we have the center, we have the power forward.”
Wall goes on to say that while Porter played great, the team needs someone that can guard and go back at LeBron. Now I doubt George goes to Washington, but I can’t imagine Porter being too happy about this (not that Wall’s wrong). Wouldn’t be too surprised if it plays a factor in Porter seeking a contract that will make it tough for Washington to match or accept the QO to leave in UFA in a year.
