Despite the odds stacked against the Wizards landing Paul George in a trade, the Washington front office continues to pursue the star forward via trade, reports J. Michael of CSN Mid-Atlantic. Michael adds that the Celtics appear to be the frontrunners in the George trade sweepstakes.
John Wall confirmed on Monday that he has been recruiting George in an effort to get him to push for a trade to Washington. However, it’s not clear if the Wizards have the necessary assets to get anything done. Certainly, the team’s collection of appealing young players and future draft picks pales in comparison to Danny Ainge‘s stockpile in Boston.
George, 27, posted averages of 23.7 PPG (a career-high), 6.6 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 1.6 SPG this past season. His slash line was extremely impressive too at .461/.393/.898.
What exactly would WAS give up that would be more attractive than what the C’s could offer?
Agree!
Porter
Crowder costs so much less than Porter would to match an offer sheet for Indiana
so far I’ve heard Celtics won’t offer Lakers or nets picks, J.Brown, tatum. so is jae crowder that good, come on now. I’d rather take Julius randle, Clarkson, and picks or get faried, mudiay, picks and someone from Cleveland. even the lakers pick and crowder isn’t better then the other 2 offers. So unless Indy just wants to say f u lakers I don’t get why the Celtics offer is head of the pack. Can someone explain?
Nothing to explain. You are absolutely correct! They should have jumped on the Lakers offer!
The best trade for the Pacers is the following: Lakers trade Randle, Clarkson, Tarik Black & the 2020 first round pick for Paul George. This gives the Pacers good young players to build around and gives them a future first round pick.
Your misinformed. Celtics will trade 1 or 2 of their 7 (over next 3 years) remaining first round picks plus Crowder and maybe Smart or Bradley. They have a lot of inventory to work with which could help Indy rebuild faster around Myles Turner.
See I’ve only heard that from other fans, I’ve yet to hear a credible source list multiple picks outside later first round picks. You would think they would have to trade the nets and/or lakers/kings pick
The nets pick will not be available.

and if it’s not one of those high picks how is what you mentioned the best package Hahahaha
Its a rental none-the-less. That isn’t worth any “high picks.”
Lower first round picks and a mediocre player is the market for this rental.
Otherwise George can rot for a year in Indiana.
Didn’t realize the first post was successful. Should be an interesting off season with all the big name FA’s and the rumors flying. The Warriors have everyone scrambling.
They are all high picks except their own. 5 of them are potential lottery picks. And yes one or 2 will be involved plus one or two current players.
If they want him bad enough and feel they can sign him which is the rumor (his people say Boston is a good fit) then no one has more to trade assuming the Pacers are planning to rebuild.

you’re misinformed
they have 2018 nets then either 2018 Lakers pick if 2-5, or 2019 kings/76ers pick Boston’s choice. then grizzles and clippers pick all protected pretty well so they are lower lottery or outside lottery picks.
Incorrect – Only protected pick from that group is the Lakers pick for next year 2-5. I’m watching Boston Sports Tonight and Kevin Mannix from the Vertical is talking about it. His boss Wojo is the one who breaks all the major NBA news. July 1 he will be working for ESPN.
my link is from Boston.com just google it. it has protections on almost every pick
Lakers only chance is 2018 free agency
George is a good player but it’s best to let the kids to get better. I hope the lakers don’t have to give their pick to the celtics
Probably depends on how well “Ball Control” improves his team with his incredible ability to pass the rock. He’s definitely impressive. Can’t say I disagree with you. As much as I would love to see Hayward and George on the Celtics, I’m really looking forward to year 2 of Jaylen Brown and year 1 of Jayson Tatum.
ball can pass the ball… but who the hec is here passing to!!!??? u have no scorers.. Russell gone…u have Deng… Ingram… they both average like 7pts ah game… who can he get a assist off… lol.. lol ridiculous draft pick… the best point hairs on the league are free agents this year…y get one or the draft that had to develope…. just dumb!!!!
Whyyyyy!? George has made it clear he is going to the Lakers. He will not sign an extension. Why give up anything for one year of him!?
someone deleted the trump/ pence shots Hahahaha
Good
