The Bulls inked Dwyane Wade to a two-year contract last offseason, but the franchise has undergone some renovations with an eye on rebuilding for the future. Wade, at age 35, doesn’t appear to fit in those plans and earlier today, it was reported that he and the team are expected to work out a buyout agreement in the coming months.
Should the future Hall of Famer reach a buyout agreement with Chicago, where is the best place for him to continue his career?
Cleveland might be a logical fit given his friendship with LeBron James. Houston would give Wade an opportunity to play alongside James Harden and Chris Paul to form one of the best backcourt rotations in recent memory. The Heat seem like they’re one player away from breaking into the Eastern Conference’s top-4 and Wade could be that contributor that helps get Pat Riley home court in the opening round of the playoffs.
The Spurs could use Wade as a primary ball handler until Tony Parker returns from injury then watch the shooting guard’s minutes to ensure he stays healthy for a playoff run. A lineup of Parker, Wade, Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol with Patty Mills, Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and a potentially healthy Rudy Gay coming off the bench would be a tough out in the playoffs.
Do you feel Wade should sign with any of the aforementioned teams or is there another club that would be a better fit? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below. We look forward to what you have to say!
I don’t mind the Houston option.
He’d be great as a 6th man or even at the 3
He’s going to Phoenix. He wants to play with Dragan Bender.
You really love talking about Dragan Bender
Dragan Bender isn’t good
Obviously.
Warriors
Cabs to play alongside Kay felder. Kyrie will be a backup to Kay.
it’s obviously pass u guys need Time… because all of u are talking sleepy… nobody knows those guys ur naming… and he’s not going to the Suns… that’s crazy…lmbo… lol Cavs or Knicks if melo stay…
Would it be at all possible and make any sense for the Bulls to be the 3rd or 4th team in a Carmelo-to-Houston deal and send Wade to New York for Ryan Anderson and another substantially better asset to make that Anderson contract a little more palatable?
Both Houston and New York lack the other substantial asset required in order to make Chicago take on Anderson’s contract since Houston’s picks are late 1st’s and NY wouldn’t trade theirs
Say Philly @Phiily fan! Doesn’t Fultz get compared to him?
I would love to see him back in Miami but we got too many SGs that can do the same for less money.
Honestly it’s Cleveland and if he doesn’t go to Cleveland that tells me 100% lebron is leaving. Cleveland wouldn’t need a true pg between Rose Wade and Lebron it’s covered. So now that opens up where they can trade Kyrie and for what they don’t have to be specific such as Bledsoe and Josh Jackson. They could offer Knicks Kyrie for Melo and heir first round.
I have a strange feeling the Banana Boat ends up in Cleveland and Lebron stays. How this can go down….
With a Kyrie trade you have to attach Shumpert and JR or Tristan. That frees up almost 50 million or so. Frye comes off the books at seasons end. The Cavs are now sitting at around 78-81 million cap depending if it’s JR or Tristan shipped. Last order of business you will have Tristsn or JR still remaining find a team who will take the contract Tristan probably easier to trade or instead of that you can trade Love. This move frees up anothe r17-20 million. So now the cap is at 60million Lebron probably would take a small cut to facilitate it to 30 million. So you have 55 million pay roll and that’s 45 million for Paul, Wade, Melo. And if they end up trading for any of them such as Melo or Paul they can go over the cap. and then after you do all this if they decide after a year that’s it you have essentially no cap and can rebuild the franchise. Or you can do this and try to leverage a 3-4 year deal out of Lebron. And after 3-4 years he wants to leave he’s passed the prime and no one in Cleveland will me mad he goes to chase a ring or two those last few years of his career.
Or all of this is moot and Lebron wants to leave Cavs value goes down so much he swoops in in 10 years buys the Cavs.
You’re forgetting about Kay felder
If Wade becomes a FA I think he would consider Denver or Milwaukee too young teams that he gave serious thought to as a free agent. I think he would also consider teams around the 5-8 seed in the East like Charlotte, Philly, maybe even Indy
