JANUARY 6, 11:03pm: The Kings have released an official statement on Bratz, Cunningham tweets, saying, “We agreed to part ways and appreciate all of his contributions to the Kings. We wish him nothing but the best.”
JANUARY 6, 10:45pm: The Kings have decided to part ways with senior director of scouting Mike Bratz, tweets Sean Cunningham of station KXTV in Sacramento. Cunningham says two sources have told him about the firing, but the team hasn’t confirmed the move.
A former assistant coach with the Kings, Bratz also served as a senior advisor to GM Vlade Divac (Twitter link).
A long-time coach and executive in the NBA, Bratz was hired as assistant GM for the Kings prior to the 2013/14 season. He was director and player personnel and director of scouting for the Nuggets before coming to Sacramento and spent time as an assistant coach and executive with the Cavaliers.
Looks like he’s been a loser everywhere he has been. That said, the Kings need to fire in this order:
1. Owner
GM (Divac)
Coach
Why Vlade he’s made a nice young team with a lot of potential
Sam Hinkie is still available.
Not a Kings fan….but can you please hire him^
Yeah, to go with a bad Hill signing.
SAC biggest need: young small forward.
Justin Jackson (#15) < Kyle Kuzma (#27), OG Anunoby (#22), Terrance Ferguson (#21), Dillon Brooks (#45).
Plus, they were sitting at #10 and could have taken Donovan Mitchell.
Malachi Richardson?
Buddy Hield comes off the bench?
Papagiannis?
I thought it was clear that with the #5 & #10, they could get a dope forward or guard at #5, but only a dope guard at #10 (DSJ/Ntilikina/Mitchell).
I have nothing against DeAaron Fox.
But they should have taken the remainder of Tatum, Jackson, Isaac at #5. Which would've been Isaac.
Then taken the remainder of DSJ, Ntilikina, Mitchell at #10. Which was Mitchell.
Best believe they'd be set up nicer with Mitchell & Isaac, then with Fox, Jackson and Giles.
Dont give me that Mitchell stuff. NOBODY knew he was this good. If you’re saying we should have picked them at 25 then okay but anybody saying we should have picked him at 10 …… everybody passed on I’m nobody knew he was this good
Nah bro I disagree. Mitchell may have not been a top 10 projection but he was projected in most board anywhere from 11-18. You can check out BR’s mock draft or even Draft Express to confirm that.
I wonder why many teams passed on him? Red flags about something?
Knicks had Mitchell higher than Smith. Too bad they took Frank N.
Phil :(
I messed up !!
I was thinking of another player picked in the late twenties. So sorry !!! Mitchell was picked at 13 !!
Yikes, where’s my coffee!!!
Not that much. I think Mitchell was a late riser… people were not sure about his position, still are not, but never called a “combo guard” either… he had to be interviewed, looked at more closely.
