Jazz center Rudy Gobert was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year at the NBA’s second annual awards show.
Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis and Sixers center Joel Embiid were the other finalists.
Gobert was a finalist in 2017 but the award went to the Warriors’ Draymond Green. Gobert finished second to Davis in blocks this past season with an average of 2.27 per game but his overall defensive excellence won him the honor.
Green is still the best…….
You know if you watch crunch time in the 4th quarter and they stick green on a great offensive player, it’s actually extremely entertaining to watch. It’s almost hard to believe how quickly green moves his feet to impede the offensive players progress. It truly is amazing to watch.
And generally Green knows just how to get away with stuff. Sometimes replays of his fouls after I say “it’s about time” show they weren’t fouls!
If Lebron was traded to GSW, Green would probably be a Cav!
Rudy Gobert, spying this page:
Sacre bleu! C’est moi, c’est moi!
(Translation: Darn it I won the thing after all not Draymond)
Cannot believe this man, without a shadow of a doubt both AD & Embiid were way better defensive players this year than him, anchored more for their teams & were more important overall, AD played with DMC & Mirotic which either of them are known for their defensive prowess, Favors does plenty to help Gobert. Anyway I am really mad they got it wrong, totally wrong. Just had the hype.
