James Michael McAdoo, who won two NBA titles with the Warriors and played briefly for the Sixers last season, has signed with Fiat Torino in Italy, according to Nicola Lupo of Sportando.
McAdoo signed a two-way contract with Philadelphia in August, but was waived in mid-January. He appeared in just three NBA games and played 18 total minutes. He finished the season with the Agua Caliente Clippers of the NBA G League.
Undrafted out of North Carolina, McAdoo signed a 10-day contract with the Warriors in January of 2015 as they were on their way to the first of four straight Finals appearances. He spent much of his time with Golden State in the G League, but got into 52 games during the 2016/17 season.
With his defensive ability, and versatility, I’m surprised he wouldn’t get a look from certain teams that could use that
You can find a million guys like him with higher offensive upside. I’m a duke fan and watched him at UNC, he’s nothing special.
But he also improved from his time there. I agree that back then he had a lot more deficiencies, but he got in way better shape, and expanded his skillset. He was pretty much Looney for GS before last year
But you’re generally right. You can probably find someone younger and cheaper in the G-league. I’m just saying I could also see him with certain teams
You could see anyone with any team because value is relative. A guy like Zach Britton is more valuable to a team like Tampa Bay or Cleveland than he is Baltimore
that’s what every Duke fan says about a North Carolina player!
Association bias much? lol
Poor guy was a late lottery pick after his freshman year but went back and his projection dropped all the way to undrafted. Missed out on a bunch of money
That is it you find so many guys like that, all the defensive skills & energy are good, but all the guys fighting for a place in the league bring that, you must have good offensive skills above all else, to come on top of other players. & that is more difficult, defending is a matter of will mostly, attacking a matter of talent.
