The NBA’s free agent list continued to shrink on Tuesday, as several more intriguing names came off the board. We also got our first trade agreement of July, with the Nuggets and Sixers reaching an agreement on a deal.
Listed below are July 2’s notable contract and trade agreements. For the most part, these deals aren’t yet official, so the reported terms could change — or agreements could fall through altogether. Generally speaking though, teams and players are on track to finalize these deals sometime after the July moratorium ends on Friday.
- Nuggets agree to trade Wilson Chandler, Denver’s 2021 second-round pick, and the right to swap 2022 second-round picks to the Sixers in exchange for cash.
- Dante Exum, Jazz agree to three-year, $33MM contract.
- Avery Bradley, Clippers agree to two-year, $25MM contract.
- Tyreke Evans, Pacers agree to one-year, $12MM contract.
- Dwight Howard, Wizards agree to one-year, $5.34MM contract.
- Raul Neto, Jazz agree to two-year, $4.4MM contract.
- Michael Carter-Williams, Rockets agree to one-year, minimum salary contract.
- Jeff Green, Wizards agree to one-year, minimum salary contract.
- Kevon Looney, Warriors agree to one-year, minimum salary contract.
- Raymond Felton, Thunder agree to one-year, minimum salary contract.

These guys are dealing with a tough world. Get moved all over hell. Have to be willing. Something like cattle. It reminds me of getting drafted into the war and waiting in a hot foreign yard, waiting for orders to go to my unit. Somewhat like that, but obviously not that. Except there’s the cattle part of it similar.
Compare what they make to what your average soldier makes and these guys are not getting shot at…..one of the worst comparisons I’ve ever read.
It’s the 4th of July and I’m a combat veteran who has dealt with snipers, ground attacks, rocket attacks and having driven mind roads and I was a former college basketball player. What’s your story?
Dwight to Washington cracks me up. Apparently the Wizards locker room is one of the most toxic in the L, and though they clear out Gortat, they bring in a guy who’s known for being a locker room killer. He can’t stay anywhere more than a year now, and it seems to always be that it’s his locker room presence that causes his quick departure.
This was my immediate concern when I saw the buyout.. I really hope him and Wall are good buddies.
If they’re corrupted, then Howard cannot cotrupt them. Good fit!
I have heard he is actually a good guy, you know always smiling, glass half full type of guy, you find in some places people don’t like that, they like glass half empty & think you are a dimwit if you smile all the time, what the heck I would take DH12 to my team any day of the week & twice on Sunday.
