JULY 13: Nunn has officially signed a contract with the Warriors, per RealGM’s transactions log. It’s a one-year deal.
JUNE 22: Undrafted free agent Kendrick Nunn will make the move from one Oakland to another, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.com, who reports (via Twitter) that Nunn has agreed to a partially guaranteed deal with the Warriors.
Nunn, who will join the defending champions in the Bay Area, spent the final season of his college career at Oakland University in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Averaging 37.9 minutes per contest, the 6’3″ guard racked up 25.9 PPG on .435/.394/.838 shooting, chipping in 4.7 RPG, 3.8 APG, and 1.5 SPG.
Nunn earned a spot on Jonathan Givony’s big board at ESPN.com, coming in as the 99th-ranked prospect in this year’s draft class.
While reporting on agreements reached at this time of year can be ambiguous, Begley’s note that Dunn will receive a partial guarantee suggests he’ll come to camp with the Warriors in the fall. The team will be able to finalize his signing after the new NBA league year begins in July.
Seems like good stats. Know nothing about him. Anyone know more about him?
Nunn do
I happen to know all about Kendrick Nunn. He played at Oakland University for only 1 year, he was a transfer and lost his junior year of eligibility. He is a legitimate scoring threat! He can shoot the 3 and drive to the hoop. He is the scoring threat the Warriors are lacking off the bench. He is athletic enough to learn to play defense but came from a prolific offensive team that has the all time 3 point shooter in college history, Travis Bader. Travis got a shot to play for the Warriors 4 years ago in the Summer League (Wikipedia fail to mention) but just didn’t perform up to his true capabilities, I was obviously very disappointed when he was cut. Oakland University also produced Kay Felder, who the Cavs traded up for but just couldn’t quite make the leap to the NBA.. He lead the nation in assists and scored over 24 points/game. So Oakland University produces great offensive weapons. Coach Kampe became head coach 1 year before I attended Oakland in 1984 and has 602 career wins. Back in 1984 Oakland was a division 2 school that made the switch to division 1 in 1999. So I have followed them for over 30 years. I am also a huge Warriors fan since Run TMC – Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullen so I am far from a bandwagon fan.
This Wunn do!
He was a transfer from university of Illinois. He was dismissed from the team in 2016 for striking a woman in his apartment
