It’s hard to envision Stephen Curry playing for another franchise and for Warriors fans, it sounds like that’s something they’ll never have to do.
“I love the Bay Area, man,” Curry said on The Bill Simmons Podcast (h/t Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo Sports). Curry added that he doesn’t think about going back to his hometown of Charlotte. “The only reason I go home now is if my sister’s getting married or to go play the Hornets for that one game, so I haven’t really been back much. I haven’t put my mind there.”
The two-time MVP has four years remaining on the massive five-year, $201MM contract he signed back in the summer of 2017. Curry will be 34 when his deal expires and he has no plans of moving on from the franchise at that time.
Simmons asked him if he feels like he’ll be a Warrior for life and the point guard’s response was great news for the Bay Area. “For sure I do,” Curry said “This is home. This is where I want to be, for obvious reasons.”
The Warriors are going to win it all next season again, no one can say any different or you’ll be crucified.
Boston has like a 5% chance and the rockets could cause Cousins is going to be below average
Yea you stop 1 and the other 4 go iff that’s the problem with this team
You’ll be crucified when you’re proven wrong and hiding under another handle.
Dionis got this one right. Curry is the perfect point guard. He runs the offense. He can shoot 3’s or he can drive to the basket. He can dribble and pass. He can steal the ball. How many championships in a row can the Warriors win with Steph, Klay, and KD?
And boogie
OddSharks.com, the gambling site that predicted LeBron to L.A. and Kawhi to Toronto has Golden State -195 to win next years championship, Celtics +550, Lakers +800, Rockets +850, Raptors/Philadelphia +1600 others out considerably.
Last time Steph played Kyrie, he called him his equal now. Yesterday it was reported an ESPN panel predicted Kyrie to the Knicks. On today’s ESPN episode of “The Jump,” ESPN’s Kevin Arnovitz reports, “My best intel is that the Celtics and Kyrie have a pretty good mutual understanding that he wasn’t going to get traded in the offseason and that these are long term aspirations for both parties! It adds ‘While Knicks, Nets, and a host of other teams might come calling for Irving next season, the smart money, at least for now is on the star guard remaining in Boston.”
Got this from NESN.
As I said earlier, x%sure taught me not to get ahead of myself, wait for something to happen. Journalists like to stir up the pot for L.A. and New York. I want to see Boston-Golden State next summer and go from there.
Damn u obsessed with Kyrie
LOL!!!!!!!!! Love Boston, Love Brad Stephens, Love Hayward, Love Butler (Ohio States last 2 basketball coaches came from there. Last time Ohio State made the Final 4 they had Greg Oden and Mike Conley from Indianapolis), Love Indianapolis, Love Indiana,
Love Kyrie!!!! Go Boston!!! Go Golden State!! Kyrie is an All Star and 1 of 5 best point guards in the NBA for BOSTON!!
You Cleveland guys just don’t like it because it’s possible he could be in the Finals against Golden State the next 4 years with Boston and be All NBA. He made the right decision. If LeBron can leave twice, why can’t Kyrie leave once? He had the right to look out for himself, LeBron wasn’t.
LeBron left as a free agent after seeing out his contracts.
Kyrie demanded a trade.
Trade, free agent, same thing. LeBron could have stayed in Cleveland. LeBron had an NBA Final and a 52 win season before he left the first time. He left with 4 Finals and a championship this time. Kyrie had to play on 2 of the worst teams in NBA history. LeBron could have stayed and tried to build another championship. Kyrie will have the chance to be in the Finals the next 4 years for Boston. LeBron won’t be in the Finals the next 4 years for the Lakers. LeBron looked out for LeBron twice. Kyrie looked out for himself once. Look how many guys LeBron got traded when he was in Cleveland. Kyrie knew LeBron would leave again. He absoutely desrved that right.
For the part about playing out contracts. LeBron did 4 year contracts with Miami and Los Angeles, and 1 year contracts with Cleveland, so I don’t want to hear it. Kyrie wanted to play with Gordon Hayward. He had recruited Hayward, Trevor Ariza, and Channing Frye to play with the Cavs before LeBron decided to come back, and brought in James Jones and Mike Miller instead.
And Cleveland fans burned all their LeBron jerseys in the streets…
Curry is a great player, but is way off been a perfect PG, is a great shooter, but isn’t a very good passer. All in all is gonna be good for him if he stays in the Bay Area.
Get NBA League Pass and watch them a few games or on the many times they’ll be on National television. I will. He’ll be 1st team All NBA again if he’s healthy. He’s quite a guy too (a good dad). He has 3 daughter’s now. He’s started up his basketball camp for girls. His dad was a great shooter too (for the Bucks and the Cavs, and Charlotte).
For x%sure. If you go to Yahoo Sports today, they made up trades for about 5 teams that might help Kevin Love.
Point guards are supposed to run the offense. Kyrie being one of the top 3 ballhandlers in the NBA allows him to do that. Cleveland called their plays for LeBron. Brad Stevens calls his for Kyrie. All the Boston players say Stevens gets the best out of them. Kyrie said I finally have a coach! Boston led Toronto before Kyrie got hurt.
Yahoo pulled the articles. One of the trades was J.R. and Korver to Atlanta for Dedmon and Bazemore. The Miami trade of Tristan and Korver wasn’t made up. It could actually happen.
Yeah I don’t see it. The Kevin Love trade articles died down after the extension was signed.
A trade that helps KL? He might like getting Whiteside. That would help him on D and keep him at the 4, ifhe still prefers that.
KL’s more of a problem for opponents at center though. Best trade for CLE is one getting Trey Lyles.
Miami’s Macgruder could be a step-up player too if the Cavs could get him in play. Even Waiters, who is on the block.
I really like Trey Lyles. I remember he had to play out of position at small forward at Kentucky. He’s a true small ball power forward. He can hit 3’s. He can rebound. He’s originally from Canada and finished his high school at Indianapolis Tech. He was Mister Basketball in Indiana. He’ll be good some day. He was actually playing ahead of Ken Faried last year. He’ll be a restricted free agent this summer.
That is Tristan and Korver for Hassan Whiteside.
Breaking news: Athlete who wins championship every year doesn’t want to leave.
Slow news day.
STEPH BETTER!!!!!
