Newly acquired Rockets guard Brandon Knight recently had “clean up” surgery on his left knee and will miss an unspecified amount of time, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Houston acquired Knight from Phoenix in a four-player trade at the end of August. Knight missed all of last season with a torn ACL and played just 54 and 52 games the prior two years. He wasn’t projected to have a significant role with the Rockets as Chris Paul, James Harden and Eric Gordon fill most of the minutes in the backcourt, so the team can wait for Knight to recover.
Knight will make $14.6MM this season and another $15.6MM in 2019/20.
This dude has spent more games injured than he’s actually played in the NBA, his most memorable moment was when Kyrie sent him to the floor off a cross over.
Don’t forget that blown game winning breakaway layup when he was a buck.
Or the attempted block of the DeAndre Jordan oop.
Oh man I felt so bad for him after he missed that lay-up lol
I kind of feel bad for him (well only as bad as you can feel for someone making millions to play basketball)
In his most memorable bad moments he’s usually trying to play good defense and we lament that defense isn’t taken seriously anymore…he’s trying to play good defense against Kyrie (in an All Star game nonetheless), protect the rim against DeAndre (someone massively taller), and even in the missed game winning layup it came off him playing good defense and getting a steal (then blowing the layup…).
Hopefully he heals up quickly and returns/stays healthy soon.
Yea at least he tries you are right.
no, he doesn’t. If he tried he wouldn’t lose other guards through screens, he would know when to double team and how to get back to his man after doing so. He is (or was?) very athletic and that makes him want to do the acrobatic plays that go along with it but he has no interest in being better defensively.
Brandon Knight has never been an all-star, ever! Maybe you’re referencing the rising star challenge on all-star weekend???
