FEBRUARY 6: The Lakers and Pistons have each issued a press release confirming that the Bullock trade is now official.
FEBRUARY 5: The Lakers have agreed in principle to acquire Reggie Bullock from the Pistons in exchange for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk and a second-round pick, Frank Isola and Shams Charania of The Athletic report (Twitter links).
Detroit will receive Los Angeles’ 2021 second-round pick, tweets James Edwards III of The Athletic. The deal is expected to be finalized on Wednesday.
We relayed over the weekend that Los Angeles was one of several teams to call Detroit about the swingman. Bullock, 27, has a $2.5MM expiring contract, so he does not impact the Lakers’ cap situation for free agency this summer.
By trading Bullock, the Pistons will create a $2.5MM trade exception, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks. The Lakers will inherit Bullock’s Bird Rights (with a cap hold of $4.75MM) entering free agency his summer.
In his sixth NBA season, Bullock is averaging a career-best 12.0 PPG through 43 games and gives the Lakers some much-needed outside shooting help. He is shooting the ball at a 38.4% clip from three-point range this season, which is slightly below his career average of 39.6%.
As for the Lakers, they are parting with one of their second-round picks (47th overall) from last year’s draft. The Ukraine native has appeared in 39 games this season, averaging a mere 3.2 PPG. Per Marks, the Pistons will have until July 5 to guarantee Mykhailiuk’s $1.4MM salary for the 2019/20 season. His third season is a team option worth $1.6MM.
Assuming the trade is completed, the Pistons will move $1.5MM below the luxury tax for the season.

Don’t much about Bullock but I have been hearing the rumor they were in on him for a few days, I figured they’d land him for a pick when they traded away half of the team for AD. Guess they figure they ain’t getting AD so they gotta make some other moves. I do t blame them. Definitely gotta do something, especially after tonight and it looks like the locker is torn after trade talks. I have a feeling the Parker trade and possibly a Ariza trade are coming next.
No. Just stop, you obviously don’t know what ur talking about, as you stated with ur opening sentence.
Bullock is a shooter. Something they need regardless of whether they get AD or not.
And they traded Mihkayluk .. a player who’s name was not involved in the reported AD talks… And no longer someone worth re-checking proper spelling of name anymore.
Literally has zero imapact on AD trade
What are you going on about? Get the hell out of here. People on here are ridiculous.
You clearly said:
“Guess they figure they ain’t getting AD so they gotta make some other moves”
I clearly said :
“Literally has zero impact on AD trade. ”
Everyone else said:
“Jkomz is dumb because this has zero impact on AD trade”
I quit…
They’re called original ideas. In an upset, for this particular case & poster, also more accurate than Thronson’s– trading for Bullock is a good plan for anyone regardless of AD status.
Svi looked good in preseason, capable of heating up & changing the game, but did not step up for the real games. Presumably Detroit is risking that rather than keeping Bullock’s steadiness given the team’s disappointing status.
Detroit is more in desperate ‘do something’ mode… Lakers are just getting James back, which is plenty to handle already. But a good deal addressing their weakness.
Clearly just like everyone else looking for an excuse to correct someone. Tired of these keyboard warriors who think they are better than everyone on here. Kick rocks!
I’m better than you
I tried kicking some rocks before, really hurt my toes
Whos dude correcting? No package for AD had Svia attached. The Bullock rumors were there. The Lakers need shooting regardless if they gut their roster for LEBRONEGOBROW.
If your a Lakers fan, be happy youre not hearing Carmelo Anthony and Donte Ingram and Shawn Kemps 7th oldest and Andrew Harrison and player/coach Luke Walton arent filling the half roster they Pels were offered, specially cuz the 12 first rounders the Pels wanted would have been top 5 every year after.
This is not accurate at all!
I thought they were hyped to draft Svi. So much for that
They were, but LeBron ruins teams. Duh.
Ruins teams by taking them from the lottery,to the playoffs.
Lakers could be looking to draft Zion Williamson right now and be a likely dynasty for many many years.
(Also wouldn’t have non-tendered Julius freaking Randle for what ended up equating to absolutely no freaking reason at all).
Lonzo
Ingram/Hart
Zion
Randle/Kuz
Brook Lopez/Zubac/Thomas Bryant
∆ none of those players will officially be on the roster after Thursday…..
Let that sink in. Zero.
We’d be fine without the ‘recruiting’ of Rondo, Beasley, McGee, Chandler, trading a team for AD no knees.
Just like Cavs would prob be happier rn with Wiggins and Kyrie after maybe doing just as good as during Lebron in a weak East.(sans title, I’m not crazy lol) but still.
I highly doubt the Cavs would be happy without the one title. I’d say all this was worth it for them. They wouldn’t have made it anywhere near four straight Finals with Wiggins and Kyrie sans LeBron, especially since he probably would’ve been on another Eastern team.
Also, highly doubtful this Lakers team minus LeBron and plus all those dudes comes anywhere near the top lottery pick, so adding Zion there makes no sense.
Face it, the team is better with LeBron and if they add another top player this summer, that’s how you win. You need superstars, the only one in LA right now is LeBron. The other guys are all decent, but you should deal any and all for stars to make you go from fringe to title contenders. With the current roster of young guns, you might never get there. With AD or another max player, you have a shot.
Lol… Ok then
“None of these will be on the roster after Thursday….”
Well, technically Zion isn’t on the roster to start with. Kids still in a Duke uniform, so calm ya farm champ, go rub one out or something
NO to Cleveland preferring Wiggins to James. Stupid if not crazy.
And the Lakers were heading for mediocrity, well out of Zion range. Look at facts, don’t just sit there with your eyes rolling around in your head.
they let randle walk thinking they had pg13 in the fold .. then that didn’t work out to that turned into .. rondo,stephenson,beasley.. randle probably doesn’t fit with bron
Trash trade. Bullock sucks man, svi was supposed to be the next klay thompson?!
He was supposed to be who?? He was drafted 47 and had every opportunity to drop shots. He becomes our best three point shooter perrrbtSfe wise and our second best free throw shooter
Blame it on your GM/Lebron. He told Magic to pull the string and trade the youngster for a vet. NewsFlash: Lebron like vets. Doesn’t like youngsters. Your Feb 7 deadline is coming up to see if you have any NBA acumen like you profess or if you just endlessly rant like it seems to the rest of us. Tick Tock
Put down the bottle friend svi is no klay Thompson. btw king James get Walton fired!
Its a joke. Chill guys thats what pelinka and magic called him….
Not a bad trade.
But just wish LeBron had chosen the Clippers…
This team was going somewhere man.
I was a Lakers fan my whole life up until a few days ago when it sunk it that every player I like will be gone for AD just so LeBron can have his little 2 year window ..
This is Dwight Howard/Steve Nash all over again.
LeBron is D12 causing drama and distractions for the team. AD will fill the role of Steve Nash never being on the court.
Would’ve been cool to see:
Lonzo
Hart
Ingram
Kuzma /Randle
Zubac
Grow into the dynamic pros
LET ALONE WED PROB BE LOOKING AT ZION WILLIAMSON RIGHT NOW INSTEAD OF SIGNING OLD-MAN VERSION LEBRON
Cry.
You’re arguing opposing sides of a what-if.
I know you do not like stats/facts but the guy shoots 38% 3PM and fits Lebron’s drive n dish style of play. He fits the program Lebron is building as Coach/GM. SVI is not going to be the next Klay T so stop trying eval players because it is not working for you like your trade predictions.
Lakers must have like 3 rotational shooters in Hart, KCP, and now Bullock.
Well Hart and KCP are both pretty much locks to be gone.
And neither is as good as Bullock, so not seeing your point unless there wasn’t one.
Chances of Lakers dealing Hart in a package for AD is very slim. I can see the Lakers making smaller deals like this leading up to the deadline but other than that, Hart and KCP won’t be headed to Pelicans.
BRON, BRON The GM and Tragic who hasn’t a clue will leave this in shambles.
Flags fly forever

Like Bullock. But down the road, this is going to hurt. Svi is going to be very good. He’s a very good passer. I think he can play point and one day the doors going to open and he’s going to be nailing 3s!
There’s no way he can guard 1’s
He’s a bad Jimmer Fredette.
There wasn’t a good Jimmy Ferdette
In college
There is no “down the road”
This team dies with LeBrons knees.
Knees? What that have to do with anything. Since LeBron hurt his groin
It’s a muscle injury, which rebuilds on its own, but just requires time to do so.
Who needs AD? Lol
Woah harris to sixers!!!
Wow! They have a Big 4 now. What a starting lineup.
Thank you. If not for you, I would have missed this.
Woj’s tweet:
“Sources: Clippers and Sixers have agreed to trade Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, Mike Scott for Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, 2020 first-rounder, 2021 unprotected 1st via Miami and two second rounders.”
Then Woj updated this 15 minutes ago:
“Sixers sending 2021 and 2023 second-round picks to Clippers, per sources.” (link to twitter.com)
Shoutout to imindless for being on top of his game.
Great shout imindless! Wow Philly is now gonna blow the east, specially the good for nothing Raps & Celts, NBA Finals here we come!!!
Thanks guys!! Just check woj for dimes like this!
This makes the Clips even more guard-heavy. The picks sound second-half. IDK Jerry
I came here looking for the post and nothing. Guess all the writers went nighty night already haha.
All this AD talk and the Sixers randomly pull off a move like this. Wow.
Going to be interesting to see how well they ultimately fit together, but considering how versatile Butler and Tobias are offensively, they should be just fine after an adjustment period imo.
Glad to see more and more excitement for the East.
I know right, I don’t care much about basketball but heard the tail end of something mentioned on espn so I figured I catch the deetz here. Sorely mistaken, guess the hoops rumors are not run as well as the other ones.
I understand the need for sleep and all, but it seems to me that the few days before the trade deadline demands if not 24 hour coverage, at least late night coverage.
Something must have gone wrong technically. There are a number of articles that got passed over.
The list is still unstable! It’s breaking up! Aaauu
Clippers wtf??
LA got the better part in this trade.
