The Sixers will be without Wilson Chandler for two-to-three weeks due to a right quadriceps strain, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic. Chandler is expected to return sometime after the All-Star break.
Chandler left Philadelphia’s win over the Warriors on Thursday due to the right quad strain. He tallied eight points, three assists and two rebounds in 21 minutes before the injury. In 36 games (32 starts) this season, Chandler has averaged 6.7 PPG, 4.7 RPG and 2.0 APG while shooting 39% from three for the Sixers.
The 31-year-old was acquired by Philadelphia from the Nuggets during the offseason. Chandler missed the Sixers’ first nine games of the season due to a hamstring injury.
Time to drop this bum and move on.
I mean, if they can get somebody else who can play PF, and it costs Chandler (to match contracts) to get that person, then sure. But as of right now, Chandler is one of only two guys on the team who can sort of play PF. Losing him for 2-3 weeks is a nightmare.
Heard a rumor Sixers offered Chandler, Fultz, Smith, and a 1st? for Jrue Holiday. Man that’s like bad stock trading habits. Sell low buy high. Only got a 1st for him with an AS appearance under his belt I believe.
Fake news. Can’t and won’t happen. Money doesn’t come close and deal doesn’t help either side even if the money worked. I love these people who say I heard. Heard from who? Elton Brand? Ok dope!
Also before you troll… fact check. link to espn.com
Elton Brand is smarter than that.
I think that’s an okay trade (especially if it’s a Sixers pick, not the Miami pick), although they’d need to get some PF help, I think. Simmons starts at PF on that team and the starting lineup is Holiday, JJ, Bulter, Simmons, and Joel. It positions them well for next year, when they can fill the hole in their starting lineup (JJ) with a player at literally any position other than center. (PF –> Ben to PG, Holiday to SG; C –> Butler to SG; PG –> Holiday to SG)
This dude Chandler is glass.
Weird. I thought he looked better these past couple of games.
