Jimmer Fredette‘s next shot at the NBA might come in Phoenix. John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports is reporting that Fredette will meet with the Suns tomorrow about the possibility of filling an open roster spot.
Fredette, 30, is available after his Shanghai Sharks were eliminated from the Chinese Basketball Association playoffs on Tuesday. He has been a star in China since leaving the NBA in 2016, and led the CBA in scoring this season at 36.9 points per game.
The 10th pick in the 2011 draft, Fredette played for four teams in five seasons and hasn’t been in the NBA since signing a 10-day deal with the Knicks three years ago. He was never more than a part-time player in the league, averaging 6.0 PPG in 235 games.
Nice Gunner, good scorer but not good enough to get his own shot against NBA Defenders.
Good size, decent handles, but not good enough vision to spot his open teammates to run the point guard spot.
Can’t guard his shadow.
I want to say he’s a nice guy and Charming, but I hear his ego is as huge as anyone’s.
Thinks he should be taking every shot. He may very well be right but it’s no way to be a successful NBA player with that attitude. You need your teammates.
Let me add this, he’s another one of those guys who can get you 25, but he can’t get you 2.
With the outcome on the line and in an NBA game he won’t win it for you if you put the ball in his hands.
I have interviewed Jimmer twice, once as a part of a media group interviewing him after his selection in the “D-League” draft, and I didn’t find him condescending and egotistical for a minute. Maybe it’s just me?
That’s the Charming part. Very nice young man with a great heart.
But towards teammates gets a little upset if you miss a shot and he thinks he should have been the one taking that shot.
Not a dig, in fact it’s a Killer Instinct.. “I’m going to get it done” attitude that got him this far!

Nice video. He was an amazing college player.
I know it won’t happen, but what if jimmer became the answer at point guard the suns are looking for. How incredible of a story that would be
& pigs might fly!!!
Shooting point guards are always a little bit tough to play with unless they’re incredible players. Iverson, Curry, Kyrie Irving… you know the guys.
A shoot first point guard that’s not the greatest percentage shooter? Jerryd Bayless.
You almost want a guy that doesn’t shoot a lot… only when necessary like JJ Barea or Jalen Brunson this year. Not really a good scorer, but you just love having him run the point cuz you know you’re going to get the ball. Jimmer? Not so much.
Here’s another thing. He’s 30. I didn’t realize that I thought he was 27 still LOL. Window is closing fast.
When it’s all said and done Jimmer has had an incredible basketball career if you think about it.
At the top of the Heap in college basketball, which is saying a lot !!
30 + points a game in college? Who does that? Pretty incredible.
Then play professional for many years after that? Pretty good career if you ask me.
The Mountain West was probably the best conference in the country, the year Jimmer vs Kawhi culminated in the tourney final (Kawhi’s SDSU won). Five top 25 teams also, UNLV and New Mexico were strong teams too.
Mixed emotions about Jimmer, huh, Gary?
Mixed emotions?
Great guy.
Great college player.
Not good enough to play in the NBA.
What’s mixed about that?
