Trevor Booker, who is among the notable players available on the free agent market, recently worked out for the Nuggets, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype (Twitter link). The big man has scheduled workouts with the Bucks and Clippers as well.
Booker last played in the NBA back in the 2017/18 season when he started the year with the Nets. He was dealt to the Sixers as part of the Jahlil Okafor trade early in the season and he was subsequently waived before catching on with the Pacers.
Booker was the No. 23 overall pick in the 2010 draft, originally drafted by Minnesota before the organization traded his rights to Washington. He spent four seasons with the Wizards before departing to Utah, where he played for two years. The eight-year veteran will turn 32 in November.
I always imagine one guy curling a single dumbbell in a room while everyone stands around and watches.
hahahahaha
Still think the 6ers gave up cheap on Okafor and that he’s got loads to offer. I know he’s about the 3rd option at the pelicans now he he would be awesome for a rebuilding team like the Wizards or Hornets cause he can score points. He could also be decent as a back up on a contender like the Rockets or Lakers and is called upon in games once the team is winning by 20 with 5 to go or something. Then prove himself do there.
His rookie year he averaged 17.5 points, 7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.
The Wizards already have Thomas Bryant, a rich man’a Okafor.
After Bryant they only have Wagner. Okafor could get minutes as a back up
How much of Okafor falling off the cliff has to do with his skill set or his bizarre off court antics and teams wanting to stay away from him?
I think it’s got everything to do with his inability to defend and unwillingness to shoot 3’s (0.1 career attempts per game). He’s basically an 80’s player in 2019.
Heaps of centres can’t shot threes. His defence is definitely something that’s holding him back but 10% of all nba players play just as much D look at Zach LaVine, Jabri Parker, Jordan Clarkson and so on
If he’s among the more notable players left on the free agent market, then why hasn’t he visited with the Lakers? They’re desperate for a big.
He ain’t big!
He’s a big. He’s just not a center.
Jah is not FA; Booker is.
