Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins suffered a dislocated left shoulder against the Mavericks on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter link).
Collins will undergo an MRI on the injured shoulder on Monday, Wojnarowski notes.
The former lottery pick exited the game in the fourth quarter due to the injury, finishing with 10 points and three rebounds in 24 minutes. He stated after the game that his shoulder “popped back in cleanly,” something that could be a good sign for Blazers fans, Marc Stein of the New York Times tweets.
Collins, 21, is in his third season with Portland. He appeared in 77 games with the team last year, averaging 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 17.6 minutes per contest. He’s started in each of his three games this season.
Relocating a shoulder, no problem. Blazers are on the hook for moving expenses, but no biggie, it’s normal overhead.
May seem a dumb call after everything I’ve said about Whiteside but I don’t really like the fit with Collins at PF with a centre that can’t really shoot it. Think Collins future is at centre and I don’t think Whiteside has much of a future at Portland with Nurkic coming back. With Whitesides enormous deal expiring this year what if they traded him for a PF that could help Lillard and McCollum with scoring.
I thought what about Whiteside, Trent Jr and a first for Harrison Barnes and Yogi Farrell. Kings said they regret giving Barnes that huge deal and this deal would get rid of Barnes for a expiring deal, plus it opens up the opportunity for Ariza or Bogdanovic to start at SF. The kings also get a first and Trent Jr who’s a back up sniper. Portland get Harrison Barnes who can play SF or PF and be of really good use. He’s a good defender and decent scorer plus he can shoot it from 3. They also get Ferrell who could play back up point behind Lillard similarly to how Napier found success and a back up PG that could shoot well.
Portland would save a little bit more this year from this deal allowing them at alps bring in a vet min free agent if they wanted.
I like this a lot but they gotta wait until dec 15 for barnes to be tradeable and I think he has a no trade clause because he signed an extension
Yeah not sure if he does have a no trade clause or not but don’t see why he would use it. Portland is a better team meaning he’s more likely to go the playoffs and stuff and it’s not like he will lose money from it.
Not to mention since he’s joined the kings from Dallas he been given less shots and made less points but improved his percentages. He might be more than happy to move
Barnes would be a bigger help in Portland, esp since SAC signed Ariza.
