Zion Williamson has yet to make his highly anticipated debut with the Pelicans due to a knee injury, but apparently things have been going well for the rookie as he makes his way back to the court.
According to TNT’s Reggie Miller (h/t The Render), Williamson is on schedule with his rehab and “definitely” will be back by mid-December.
The No. 1 overall pick underwent surgery back in late October and was expected to miss six-to-eight weeks. Eight weeks would have him make his debut by December 17 vs. the Nets and Miller’s reporting co-signs that timeline.
Zion is an amazingly talented player whose NBA career has already been hampered by years and years of abusing his body by playing over 150 games per year on club, travel and AAU teams from the time he was probably 10. We are doing a good job of identifying good young talent but a better job of damaging them or burning them out before they step foot on an NBA court.
So he needs better load management just like Kawhi gets.
I think everyone can use better load management. It’s a thing for a reason, science backs it up.
The Warriors definitely should have used load management.
Don’t believe scientists! They keep changing their tune more often than my auntie changes her undies! What they say today is gonna be different in a few years, so don’t waste your time listening to them dude!
Don’t get vaccinated either! Polio and smallpox are myths! Derp
Kids need load management but the parents are more concerned about them being “ranked” when they’re 11 years old
That may be true, but you don’t know that. And… it’s easy to say “take a load off” when you are the number 1 guy… most of these guys are busting their butts trying to get noticed. And the more chances they have getting noticed, the more likely they are to make a career out of this.
plus he’s fat, he has to get it in his thick skull that he is too short to be carrying that much weight around. he’s gonna destroy his knees
The man needs to lose weight, and get on a diet asap. Blake griffin whom was lighter in weight did the same thing. Being a high flying player with heavy weight puts stress on joints and ligaments. If he wants to have any shot at a long career he needs to lose like 40 lbs.
I have this prejudice, that Southerners don’t diet very well, and that Z-Will likes being large. Being an NBA player will not help him feel large unless he eats. Tough situation.
Come on guys, leave the kid alone! What’s with the obsession with the weight! People say the same about Luka Doncic because he is only 6-7 & weights 230lbs… but that alleged lack of athleticism with the extra weight is what makes him sooo good, actually he has the best PER in the league (if the season finished now it would be the best PER in history) anyway guys Zion is probably better with the extra weight like Luka or not, we just don’t know until he plays.
I think that’s right. He needs to make fitness his full time job, get down into the 250s, low 260s. These dudes gotta invest in their bodies, they’re worth 100s of millions.
Greg Oden 2.0. Calling it now, unfortunately. His ligaments and tendons are made of angel hair pasta.
