Stephen Curry has undergone another surgery on his broken left hand, Scott Cacciola of the New York Times reports. The latest surgery is to remove the pins that were inserted in his hand during the first procedure earlier this year.
Curry is still expected to be re-evaluated in February. There were whispers that Curry would not play again this season. The Warriors have refuted such reports and Curry told the media last that month that he “definitely” expected to play again during the 2019/20 season.
“I definitely expect to be ready to play — I don’t know when … I’m excited that the rest of the season isn’t lost,” Curry said.
The Warriors are 4-19 on the season, so even if Curry returns, it’s not a given that he plays big minutes for the rest of the year. The team may be better off resting the point guard and gearing up for a 2020/21 campaign where he and Klay Thompson are both expected to be healthy.
Neither Steph nor Klay should play this season. Try to develop Paschall and other yougsters, trade DLo for someone who is a better fit and get a good prospect in the draft. There’s always next year.
I dont understand why there’s all this talk about dlo not being a fit for this team when Thompson comes back. curry at pg, dlo at sg, Thompson at sf. from there u can either go even smaller with Draymond at C and sign a PF or play Draymond at PF and find a center. thompson guards opposing teams best perimeter player which he did before Durant came aboard and draymond locks down opposing teams best big or u can even sign a defensive minded big to lockdown paint threats and let draymond “free roam”. playing Klay at forward, where he can spot up more often, is probably better for him long term coming off a serious knee injury anyway. u still have depth problems that need to be addressed and defensively probably won’t be pretty most nights but this hypothetical lineup can run and gun with the best of teams and the perimeter threats on offense is unreal assuming dlo tweaks his game to fill his role on offense which isn’t out of the realm of possibility. that last point is why u get steph back on the court at some point this year, so he and dlo can try to mesh their games together
Steph and D’Angelo would be a zero defense backcourt.
Like Harden and Westbrook? I would take Curry over either them for defense!
He’s done for the year
I had a very similar hand surgery. Good luck getting proper feel back in that hand anytime soon. This could be career changing.
Well he has a lot more resources than you to rehab his injury.
Obviously, but Steph will never shoot 40% from three again.
You can troll better than that, can you?
And Harden will never shoot 40% from three in his career…
I like the way you throw stones at others when you live in a glass house! You are so delusional about how great Houston is.
There’s no point in coming back this year. But next year they could be sitting real pretty. Then watch the media jump right back on the bandwagon.
Why is no point? He is still getting paid for the season, the fans are still paying to watch him, so if he is healthy he must play, man how I hate load management, shutting down players & all of that crapola, they are pros & as it is they only play a few months every year, so if healthy they must play.
