The Clippers would be a likely suitor if Pistons point guard Reggie Jackson pursues and receives a buyout, Marc Stein of the New York Times tweets.
Jackson hasn’t decided whether to go the buyout route, Stein adds. Jackson is making approximately $18.1MM in the final year of his five-year, $80MM contract that he signed in 2015.
Detroit has gone into full rebuild mode and traded Jackson’s longtime pick-and-roll partner, Andre Drummond, to Cleveland on Thursday.
Jackson has missed most of this season with a back injury. He’s been productive since returning last month, scoring 20 or more points in four of the last eight games prior to the team’s road tilt in Oklahoma City on Friday.
The Clippers are also in the running for free agent guard Darren Collison, who will decide next week whether to come out of retirement.
Personally I think Collinson would be better as that bench PG and I think the Lakers would suit Jackson more because of his scoring
If there looking for more depth at the point why would they waive IT? I know he’s not what he was but he was having a nice year in Washington.
He only is good one end of the court and scores mainly of having the ball in his hands and driving.
Clippers don’t need a bench scoring PG that plays no defence. Off the bench they have Lou Will and Harrell as scorers they have Shamet and McGruder as defenders and Collinson would be a nice floor general running the plays, playing tidy defence and can shoot a little
Does anyone really need a player like Isaiah Thomas?
I guess a team with a scoring deficiency. A backup PG to provide a little scoring spark? But to your point, I believe that, along with his injuries, attribute to him bouncing around the league.
Shamet has been averaging 10pts and a good D player.
Shouldn’t the title be “Gets Bought Out” instead of “Gets Buyout”?
Nope

lol
Both would be accurate.
