LeBron James indicated during an Instagram Live appearance that he’d like to finish out his career with the Lakers, Dan Feldman of NBC Sports relays. James is in the second year of his four-year pact with the Lakers, though the final year at $41MM is a player option. Answering a question on Instagram, James said, “What NBA team would I never play for? I’m still playing, man. Hey, I’ve got to keep all my options open, man. But right now I’ll tell you one thing: I don’t want to go nowhere besides be here, baby. Be a Laker for the rest of my life.”
We have more from the Pacific Division:
- The Warriors will likely sign a veteran free agent wing during the offseason using the taxpayer mid-level exception, Anthony Slater of The Athletic speculates. Maurice Harkless, Jae Crowder, Josh Jackson, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marvin Williams are possibilities, as is a reunion with Glenn Robinson III. Among members of the current roster, Damion Lee is the most likely to stick behind Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson, Slater adds.
- The Warriors will be looking in the lottery for a player who can jump right into their rotation, Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. The team’s director of player personnel, Larry Harris, told Poole of the plan. “Yes, we’ll try to find someone who can come in play right away,” Harris said. “But we also know that when you’re picking this high, a lot of guys are 18, 19, 20 years old. To expect them to come in and be contributors right away, we’re not so naive to think it won’t take time. But we feel there are some players in this draft, up high, that have the ability to come in and play some minutes.”
- Renovations for the Suns’ Talking Stick Resort Arena and construction of their new practice facility are expected to remain on schedule despite the suspension of the season, according to Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. The $45MM practice facility is projected to be completed by August. The $230MM arena renovation project is scheduled to have 65% of the upgrades done going into next season.
GR3 def getting the MLE, gimme Deni, Okongwu, Toppin or Wiseman in the draft to step right into the 4/5 role
I think if the pick drops to 3 or further, Toppin is right call for them. He’s the player at the top of the draft that seems most ready for the NBA. Won’t be a star, but should be able to make a long career out of valuable rotation player or third/fourth option starter.
Wiseman learning behind Green and Paschall.
Learn what? How to be an undersized 4 or not athletic enough to guard quicker younger wings?
Wiseman is 7’1″, 240. How is that undersized?
The point is he’s not learning anything from them. Maybe Dray about D.
He’s a long lean 5 that could play like an AD lite so he may fit. But he hasn’t played much. Silly to assume he’ll even be a key starter from the jump. That’s why a package for a vet makes more sense.
Wiseman would be chriss under study not Green or Paschall. Young wings are not faster than Paschall or Green. Problem for GSW this year was the bad defense by point guard rotation which left Green and Paschall to cover 2 payers.
Check you research – Paschall could stay with regular players, but when guarding teams like clippers and lakers he got ran around by quicker guys.
Did you see how bad the GSW point guard defense was? D-lo, Poole, Bowman, and flavor of the day could not cover their man. That exposed the wings. GSW got killed on the boards by the Lakers more than team speed. Clippers point guard exposed the bad defense.
True but overall Paschall can’t start at a wing if the other is Wiggins. They both would get burned frequently but premium wings – which are plentiful in the west.
Man you better hope not – wiseman is already being projected as having better offensive tools and I’d longer and maybe quicker. There’s a reason Chriss was a bust 1st rd pick and has bounced around. Not saying he’s not worth keeping as a backup, but for the sake of the team wiseman – if picked- should be better from day 1.
Puck is getting traded for a player ready to help now – dubs don’t have the team or time to wait for a 19-20 yr old to develop.
They really need a wing to guard the elite wings.
Puck? I don’t see a Puck on their roster.
Is it just me or does “Warriors Wings” seem like a good name for a product?
