In addition to claiming the top three spots in the 2020 NBA draft based on this year’s lottery results, the Timberwolves, Warriors, and Hornets are three of eight teams that will own more than two draft picks this fall.
As our full 2020 draft order shows, the Sixers lead the way with five picks, while the Kings, Pelicans, and Celtics have four apiece. Like Minnesota, Golden State, and Charlotte, the Knicks also hold three selections. On the other end of the spectrum, the Rockets are the only team without a 2020 draft pick.
To present a clearer picture of which teams are most – and least – stocked with picks for the 2020 NBA draft, we’ve rounded up all 60 picks by team in the space below. Let’s dive in…
Teams with more than two picks:
- Philadelphia 76ers (5): 21, 34, 36, 49, 58
- Sacramento Kings (4): 12, 35, 43, 52
- New Orleans Pelicans (4): 13, 39, 42, 60
- Boston Celtics (4): 14, 26, 30, 47
- Minnesota Timberwolves (3): 1, 17, 33
- Golden State Warriors (3): 2, 48, 51
- Charlotte Hornets (3): 3, 32, 56
- New York Knicks (3): 8, 27, 38
Teams with two picks:
- Chicago Bulls: 4, 44
- Atlanta Hawks: 6, 50
- Washington Wizards: 9, 37
- San Antonio Spurs: 11, 41
- Orlando Magic: 15, 45
- Portland Trail Blazers: 16, 46
- Dallas Mavericks: 18, 31
- Brooklyn Nets: 19, 55
- Oklahoma City Thunder: 25, 53
- Toronto Raptors: 29, 59
Teams with one pick:
- Cleveland Cavaliers: 5
- Detroit Pistons: 7
- Phoenix Suns: 10
- Miami Heat: 20
- Denver Nuggets: 22
- Utah Jazz: 23
- Milwaukee Bucks: 24
- Los Angeles Lakers: 28
- Memphis Grizzlies: 40
- Indiana Pacers: 54
- Los Angeles Clippers: 57
Teams with no picks:
- Houston Rockets
It might be bias since its my team, but Boston seems to have the most rounded out set of picks.
I would prefer the Knicks picks. 8 & 27 are better than 14 & 26. They and the Celtics appear to be only teams with 2 first rounders.
Wolves. 1, 17 33. Two firsts and early second. Cmon infield fly, you should be automatically out for that last erroneous post. You’re better than that.
Btw, advance at your own risk
My team is gsw. I say the only team with better scenario is twolves. A one and a seventeen. But you make sense cuz of having 4 picks to their 3.
Do you expect a lot of trades? And if twolves keep their first pick, who do you think they’ll take?
Clearly Wolves will pick Edwards and keep the pick
Now whoever other team like they will call Warriors
I hope so. Gsw can take wiseman or trade the pick. I vote trade it. Sullivan? What’s ur vote
Sillivan (not Sullivan, sorry)who do you think wants wiseman bad enough to want to trade up? I’m assuming Ball is not high on many teams’ lists to be trade worthy. You know these teams better than me
Warriors have decided to trade 2nd pick only if good offer
I vote yes, trade
Wide open is a smart move
I mean it would be Wiseman, Silliman, Ball,
Whoever other teams like take him
Sure, but most rounded doesn’t mean much compared to most valuable.
I’m done with the lottery regarding the Knicks. I’m done waiting for a miracle. Im done waiting for top free agents to come to MSG. IT’S TIME FOR THE KNICKS TO STOP WAITING FOR A MIRACLE AND START DRAFTING AND DEVELOPING PLAYERS BETTER!!!!! KNICKS fans deserve better. Forget the Nets the Knicks are the team of NYC!! We need to start doing better no more excuses. Enough is enough.
You are, much better to have a top picks. Minny is in a good spot. They should get two rotation players in this draft. That doesn’t happen very often. Celtics can make trades. They have options. Like Sixers they can turn picks into a needed position player.
IMO Love can help Celtics and Minny become a much better team. He wouldn’t take al lot either. He’s a stretch 4 who rebounds. He should be on contender.
The Sixers have 5 picks, yet we all can see The Process isn’t working. Having the most picks won’t make their future any brighter, while the only team with no picks has as bright a future as any team in the NBA these days.
You will figure this out in 2022
Warriors are 5 years ahead of Rockets
It is huge. Warriors have 3 draft picks this year and 5 draft picks next year.
Oh boy! I am a big fan of Harden, with that said, HOU is a team of the past & scarcely present, about the future ain’t any at all, is an old team! Care to explain how it has the “brightest future in the NBA these days”?
The reasons that Wolves and Warriors are winner it’s because the teams names start with W
Wizards??
Wizards were playing at Bubble
Exclude
After pick 40 really not much. Contenders, playoff teams with multiple picks. Can position to get a player of need. That’s where it can really help. You look at Sixers, Celtics, Warriors. They can move up when a positional need drops in draft. There will be a few who drop in this draft.
Carey Jr, McDaniels are two players who were rated high. Who both have dropped out of lottery now. Two talented players IMO. Both need coaching and special attention. Both have big upside.
Trade idea
Warriors get Washington
Hornets get 2nd pick
Future picks attached if needed
Reasons
Warriors save costs
Hornets meet team salary requirement
Why on earth would Charlotte do that? Washington is chock full of potential and there’s absolutely no reason to move up one pick in such a balanced draft
He didn’t say anything about Charlotte giving up 3. Just Washington for 2 which would be an overpay the other way.
That’s would be a great trade for Charlotte. Turning the #12 pick last year into the #2 pick this year. But, I think you are overvaluing PJ here. The Warriors can get a much more proven player for the #2.
The best package I could find for the W’s 2 is with the Jazz
Jazz get
Andrew Wiggins
#2
#48 or #51
Warriors get
Bojan Bogdanovic
Rudy Gobert
No matter what the Jazz say there has to be some remaining resentment between Mitchell and Gobert. A split seems inevitable. A Wiggins/Mitchell pairing could be quite fun to watch and getting Wiseman at #2 would make for an interesting trio. People forget Wiggins is still only 25 and still has potential to grow even if he is overpaid. Maybe not into the next LeBron like he was hyped to, but definitely into an All Star.
For the Warriors, a starting five of Curry, Klay, Bojan, Dray, and Gobert would be an instant title contender. Finding a couple of cheap vet big men and maybe a PG on the FA market could restart the dynasty.
All right I think everyone knows the NBA lottery is pretty much fixed, with that being said obviously silver has something against the New York Nicks. Lakers fan here and even I can see this not to mention they obviously have some weird crush on the Golden State Warriors. We all know the Warriors are going to be back next season battling the Clippers and Lakers for the number one spot and they get the second overall pick? I think anyone who is a basketball fan and was being completely honest would say the team that mostly deserved a top three selection would have been the team that resides in Madison Square Garden.
You didn’t get your way so the whole thing is fixed. Typical
So golden, three teams had the same odds for the first 3 picks. Two fell in the top 3. So odds were that they’d get first or second or third pick. 2 did. Warriors and wolves. Cavs didn’t but they’ve done well in previous lotteries.
I’m trying real hard to see your point. Can’t.
Quit complaining. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. The Knicks fell only two spots below their projected spot, which also happened to the Hawks and Pistons. Not to mention, Cleveland got an even more unfavorable pick! Golden State had the lowest winning percentage, so the second overall pick seems fair to me. As Claude Raymond mentions, they were tied for the best odds to win the lottery, so the outcome seems pretty sensible to me
Lame-o Ball is in the top three picks ?? FULL Stop on this draft.
